Someone running them on a TDI? They have normally batteries with more capacity? And just the yellow top YT S 5,5 has the same capacity like my stock battery.

Redtop 35s are not powerful enough for a TDI. They will work but they not a good battery at all. I just took mine out yesterday. They only have 44ah and need 80ah. Get one from the dealer.

Scored some roadside 'material' for a skid plate. Maybe next month mark it and mount it up.

So is 'whacking mailboxes'. Falling in the federal category. My neighbor owns a logging company and I saw a stack of those signs they put up. Inquired about a couple of them, and he permitted me to take two of them. One for my car, and one for my 4wd.

Why won't they work? The DieselGeek one is sheet aluminum.

I didn't realize the DG skid plate was a 1/4" thick. Have you actually hit anything with it yet? If so, what? Speed? And mark/dent left?

yes, multiple things, everything from speed bumps at low speeds to chunks of rock out of a truck at like 50, and animals at varying speeds. no cracks but some decent scratches and gouges from the harder things.

and me living in wisconsin, ice chunks do happen in winter....

Definitely an upcoming mod. I've heard great things about their skidplates.

Hahahahahaha. I was thinking the same thing! An Exacto knife and a straight edge could have saved a lot of time. Looks good though!

Thanks guys. And yep...vinyl a straight edge and a paper cutter. Oh and about 3 hours of work. I used a heater and stretched the white around the mirror to make it flush. I was probably watching Rob and Big or something lol.

Sorry i'm too baffled to be impressed. It looks good though.

I'm thinking of painting it black and then doing the white vynil pin stripe.

What paint did you guys use? The mirror is kinda textured so i'm not sure if plastic paint will work well or not...
