If you get in the car after it rains with water on the roof and roll down your windows you get a nice OEM water fall.

I hate when that happens. The roof holds SO much water...as soon as you come to a stop, all the water gushes down on your arm. You don't know how many times I've gone into work and people have said "why is your left sleeve soaking wet?"

Every so often, a little icon appears on the MFD letting you know there's a wrench in your engine bay.

Rear brake pads only last 8K if you have part # 1K0-698-451-F
They last 30K if you have part # 1K0-698-451-D

I've experienced the OEM waterfall and avalanche on several occasions. Not fun.

If you tap the window wipers stalk downwards right after you shut the car off it will put them in the up position

took me a long time to figure this out... i thought it was so silly to not be able to erect my wipers for snow/ ice conditions... then i hit it on accident and was like "ooooooooooohhhhh" haha

Hmmmm.....i left my lights on thius morning when I came into work and a buddy told me like 30 minutes later they were on.....what's up with that?

This feature and the radio feature are more related to your current battery voltage. they go off at a specified voltage that will still let the car crank.

Just don't open the hood with the wipers in the up position. You won't like the results.

really though? are you familiar with the saying "fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me"? and you didn't even say twice, but several lol. after this happened once, i wait to roll the windows down after driving for a bit and taking the turns out of my neighborhood.
but yea, it sucks, poor design.
although, now that i imagine it, i can definitely see "shaving rain gutters" as a popular trend if these cars had them. i detail bmws all day, those gutters are a bit of an annoyance to wash/dry. when i wash the gti, it's a relief to not have to deal with that. smooth roof ftw. sometimes.

haha yea i agree with that. it happened the first time to me the other day coming home from work...it was a tragedy, but leather seats wipe up easily plus, it drives so ****ing nice, the car does everything else amazingly, so it cancells out. lol
Oh, and you can change the footwell lighting of the front door from 0 to 100 %...why you need to do that is beyond me.

If you get on the brakes REALLY hard at highway speeds the car will auto put on the 4-ways.
I guess VW considers my driving an emergency situation because it happens all the time to me.

after washing your car, slap the sh!t out of the mirrors to get all the water out

These may be common, but they both were new to me:
* Tap the turn signal lever without fully engaging the switch and it will blink just three times for a lane change.
* Leave the turn signal lever in the on position with the car parked, and the parking lights on just that half of the car stay on.

The majority of North American cars don't have this enabled.
Can be done with Vagcom in most cases though.

My MFD reminds me how unique I am on cold days. As unique as a single snowflake it tells me.

if you hold the a/c and recirc button together, they start blinking for like 5 seconds and hot air comes out of the vents for like 10 seconds....very strange

If you try and lock the car with anything still open you dont get the little honk untill you close whatever is open.
Oh and if you go really low and dont get an aligment your front tires only last about 5k.
