Not on either of our 2009's. Had to enable auto emergency flashers on both with VAG-COM.

I've had it actually activate once on my GLI during an emergency braking. Wish I knew what actualy causes the flashers to activate... ABS activation? Doesn't seem to be the case. A certain G-force level?

Be nice to able to adjust things so the flashers activated during real hard but non-ABS braking, like if you suddenly come over the crest of a hill and run into a traffic jam (a la Autobahn). Good to have the flashers on to warn traffic behind you, but that's not the time when you want to be fumbling with one hand for the 4-way flasher switch...

True that! 2005.5 got the puddle lighted mirrors, deleted for 2006, 2006 just got the puddle lights under the doors... I agree 2005.5 is probably the best year but I had to have a GLI....

Only the GLI and GTI had the headlight washers -- Jetta 2.5, Wolfsburg, and 2.0T (non-GLI model) were not equipped with head light washers...

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this already, but its something I have noticed. During the day the gauges are actually lit which is great for when you go through an overpass on the highway. I still can't figure out how it works. I want to say they are solar powered or have a sensor that turns them on when the sun hits it because they obviously don't turn on at night, unless you hit the city lights.

The needles are lit constantly... When you turn on the car they turn on. Nothing about being solar powered or anything....

Yeah I know the needles, but i'm talking about the actual dial numbers (what normally is lit up in white) that is what i mean is lit up during the day but then fades out when either the sun goes down (if your driving into the night) or if you stay under an over pass for too long.

Regular Jetta with regular bulbs here, no washers for me then

Very cool feature though, never knew they were even equipped on some of the mkvs

ok so just got out of work and recorded these two so you guys can see what I an referring to. The reason I say there must be some sensor or solar powered like a calculator is as you can see in the second video, they fade out our turn off when I an I've bridge for longer period of time also at night they don't light up only the needless...

I have never seen a 05.5 with them yet, I could be proven differently but the only 05.5s that I have ever seen are the 2.5 with standard headlights... Like you said, you could probably option them but only the GLI and GTI models came with them standard fr 06-07 (late 07 I don't think got them)

Edit:: all 2008 R32 models got head light washers too

I definitely think its a very cool and useful feature but I currently have my deactivated because I'm going to be installing a front end bra for the road trip to north Carolina. The bra doesn't have the cut outs for the washers so just in case I don't want to damage them if I end up having to spray the windshield. So until I get NC they will remain off lol....

The washer spot will look like this for those that wonder if you have them... It's the bumper trim that has a separate part of the trim cut out

Not a very good picture but you can see how the bra covers the bumper trim where the squirters are

Just learned this today. When driving with wipers on LOW, when you stop, it will go to intermittent, then resume on LOW when you start driving.

If you hold down the scan button on the radio, you can access a few radio settings like the volume when you turn radio on, volume for when you slow down (very subtle change) and how the radio shuffles the mp3 CD if it had folders...

didn't see anyone else respond to this so hopefully i didn't just miss it. ALAS, there is a way! it's called putting your car in "service mode" for the wipers. put the key in, turn til electronics turn on, then turn back to starting position without removing. flick the wiper arm down. TADA! they stay stuck up

Also, if you pop the hood, your wipers will not work. Whether it is just popped and still closed or wide open, they will not wipe at all
