Thread: ATC Lang Lang - 21 Nov 09

  1. 09-17-2009 03:41 AM #1
Thought I would start a new thread on this instead of hijacking the NSW one.

So who else is in besides Mark and I? It's an awesome venue, which I unfortunately only got to be a spectator for most of the events last time around. The high speed motorkhana in particular looked awesome!

Hey seeing that my mate will be free soon, maybe he can come and be my team manager. Afterall, he will be used to running a BMW race team?

Ok entry sorted and paid. Come on all you keyboard warriors, come do this event! It's not even expensive, and when else are you able to go to Lang Lang to thrash around Holden's proving ground?

Not even expensive? Wayne please put this comment into perspective, I'm only a keyboard warrior through lack of means and not by choice. I'd love to come and kick your arse in any tight technical stages

So you have no plans on winning anything anytime soon then??

  11. 09-17-2009 08:50 AM #11
Yeah but I don't have another car to drive to work in if I get compression lock up I would lurrrvve to do an ATC event, any event.

This is why everyone should have a s hit box (or another nice car for those who can) sitting around just in case! Go buy yourself a $500 car and enter this thing!

Will, check out their website. That little Golf of yours would do damn well in the "back roads" at Lang Lang. Not so sure about the power run though haha. http://australiantarmacchallenge.com/

Avril, well done! Will be great to have you there. I'm sure you will be kicking KGB's butt and you both will be driving a MCS too. Your friend Annie entering in her E30?

How safe is lang lang? What are the chances of binning it? Would like to come along in the polo for some fun but like Floody, don't have a second car!

I've run the 944 at Lang Lang a couple of times and it's pretty safe. It depends on the course they set up on the day, of course, but it's up there with the safest I would say.

  23. 09-18-2009 02:20 AM #23

I will do my best to come down, it was a great weekend earlier in the year. I highly doubt I'll be competing (although I'd love to), but I'll do my best to get there anyway.

  24. 09-18-2009 02:22 AM #24
In the "hill climb" area, there is like 2 post in the entire area, and I managed to collect one of them.

I reckon it would be better to come down and do a Phil Isle or Sandown trackday one time? We can get our convoy on and the stylish set can come up and do an EC?

there are 24 events. About 12 of them are exactly that. The remainder will be carried out on the speed bowl and a massive concrete area where the motorkhana is held. It's awesome!

they will be cool too, but they are track days whereas this is a race. I'll definitely do Eastern Creek at some stage, probably early next year.

I'll kick your butt if I did it in the X5, so I thought I would be nice and do it in the 135i instead.

do you run a short ratio box?.......man mines peaking at 4,000'ishrpm at 110km/hr..........turns every hwy drive into an endurance run.

  33. 09-18-2009 08:55 PM #33
HAha yeah Will, lots of nice cars do this event too. But there is also an old E30 325 and old 180sx here and there. If you can come along it would be great!

I have no idea. Haven't spoken to her for ages. Saw her at the recent BMW Supersprints but didn't get a chance to talk to her (was busy waving the chequered flag
