I would recommend getting the proper sized tires. There is a good chance those could rub with that tall of a tire. The wheels would bolt on with no problems though. THey would sit out 2mm farther than your current setup. If you went to a 7.5'' width and kept the et43, then they would sit ~6mm farther out and 4mm more inboard.

Hi. Thanks for the comments. Using the Miata tire size calculator I see where you are coming from -- my current 215/55 16 combo has a diameter of 25.3 inches and these would be 27.2 inches so about 1 inch higher radius-wise. The offset does not sound like an issue. Guess I should do some measuring -- I guess the big issue would be the front tires when turning and hitting a bump in the road. They might hit the fender...

I have a MKIII with the standard 15x6.5 ET43 'Bugs and I will be running a 195/50-15 Bridgestone RE-11's. My question is I would like these guys to fit pretty flush and am in need of the correct size spacer to run to achieve this. Thanks for your help

I can't get you flush without knowing how low you are, but I can get you close.....
Because they are so narrow, true flush would be had with 30mm front and 40mm rear spacers. I don't recommend going over 25mm without getting the bolt on variety, that bolt to the hub, and then you bolt the wheel to the spacers. Your wheels would still look decent with 20mm front spacers and 25mm rear spacers.

I would recommend the string method to you to measure what spacers you need. Just drop a line straight down off the fender, and then measure the distance between the string and the wheel/tire. This will tell you the width of spacer that you need to order.
Based on my math, it will be in the neighborhood of 10-15mm spacers.

The lower you are, the more inset the wheels are, and the more of a spacer you need (or lower offset) in order to be flush. I still would stick to what I posted previously.

I recently bought a MKV R32 and I'm waiting for parts to get in to put it on bags and drop it to the ground... I was looking at going with 19 x 8.5 if possible, is it possible? What offset would I need to use? I know the tires will definitely have to be 215/35r19 in order to tuck well...

I would look at threads in the air ride forum that have MK5s. There will be more work involved because of the rear suspension. You can find them MK5s on bags though, and then ask in those threads what the offsets are.

so i have these mercedes 18x8.5 & 18x9.5 et 43 all the way around an i drive a mk4 5x100. they recently told me that the front wont fit right with with a 16mm adapter, because it wont clear the calipers. but am stock all the way around. that i need like a 20mm but i think thats to much.(an i think they were tripping)(a rim shop) am running 205 40 on the front an planning on 215 40 rear i wanna poke on the rear would 20mm on the back be ok . i am on fk coils ..... confuse what do you think i should do for the front an rear....?

I just bought a set of rims and the specs are: The front is 18x8.5 et 36 and the rears are 18x9.5 et 30. I have 2 questions. first what size spacers should i run on these to make them fit on my 03 gti? also i was planning on running 215/40/18 up front and 225/40/18 in the rear. I know the center bore of the wheels are smaller so i am going to have to get spacers that are hubcentric to both the wheels and the car. The wheels have an offset of et40. i have a b5 audi avant. i just picked up some axis rims. 19x8 and the lug pattern is a 5x100 5x114.5 ( i think) the reason i say i think is because when i try to mount them up i can get like 3 holes to line up and the other two just dont fit right...i have never known an axis setup to be that way, half euro half japenese.
the offset is et35...tire size is 235 35 r19
now here is my question... how can i go about mounting these on? drill the holes out 2mm? adapters? ( but the offset is near perfect for my avant. i think i may have about .5 inches of space before they poke.) and there car is lowered about 2 inches. i know the smallest adater they make is like 16mm.
is there a failsafe way to measure the lugs and determine the true bolt pattern of the rims? maybe i just didnt try hard enough...

Hey guys I have been scratching my head here to figure out if this will work. I have a set of 19x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rear adr wheels et35 and I want to run them on my mkiv golf. in the front I will be losing 35mm clearance and gaining 41mm on the outside...in the rear I will lose 48mm clearance and gain 54mm on the outside...I need to get a set of adapters and the one I found come in 15mm, 20mm, and 25mm and I am trying to figure out what size to run. I know I'll have to borrow my buddies fender roller but would like to keep the poke as low as possible WHILE still having good clearance between the strut and wheel. HELP!!

I drive a MKV GTI on Ksports spun all the way down. I want to make sure my tires are not rubbing anywhere and that they look cool I really don't know to much about stretching tires and what not..fill me in if you don't mind!

The size of rear BBS rs's are 17x10.5 ET 34....if I run a 5 mm spacer it would be a final ET 29.

I'm trying to figure out with an ET 34 (with 225/45/17 falken 512's), would the wheels hit my rear bilstein struts??? However, in order to fun an et 34 on 20th brakes i have to shave between 5-8 mm's of my rear calipers bc the 20th rear calipers are bigger than normal gti rear brakes...is it safe to shave off at most 8 mm of metal...
