your pretty much the man to talk to it seems so here we go, an offset question with spacer question.

    specs:
    17x9 et 35mm
    17x10 et 20mm
    5x100

the problem I keep running into is the front sits on the hub but hits the coilovers, I havent even done the rear yet.
so how can I get these to fit super flush/ poke and what spacers do you recommend I was going to run a 205/45r17 and 215/45r17 Im sitting pretty low right now as I am sitting on sawblades. please and thank you in advance for your time. these are going on a mk4 2004.5 gli the wheels are xxr526 chromium black with 3"/4" lips

I have 2 questions about the same wheels the guy above me is asking about(xxr 526). He answered one of them, which was if the 17x9 +35 was gonna fit without scraping. My next question is would the 17x9 +25 offset version fit and if so where would I expect to see scraping or rubbing? I am planning on getting the same size wheels at all four corners, I'm not really sure what size tire I want to run yet. At the moment my car, a mk4 jetta, is stock height. I do plan on dropping it in the future. All information is appreciated, thanks.

you can run the 35 offset, its a little wider that way but if stretch enough not a problem and with the wheel sitting flat on the hub and hitting the coilover I ran a 8mm spacer to clear because you dont need very much room just need to clear it. I am also in a 2004.5 jetta gli on h&r coilovers and with the fronts being a 9" wide wheel I am running a 205/45/17 tire, and the rears are 10" wide so I am running a 215/45/17 its what I am running on my saw blades right now and their 17x8.5/9.5 so its only a little more stretch/ but to get an idea and good picture of what it looks like and what you want check out tyrestretch.com and punch in the numbers for your tire size you desire and Im sure someone has already done it. also I suggest doing the 25offset on the wheel. even though you can make the 35 work.

    i drive a mk4 gti
    -no rolled fenders (still debating)
    -on coils
    -stock brake sizes
    -stock sway bar

im looking to run a 17x8 et 20 all around, with a bolt pattern of 5x108. i think wobble bolts would work in this case, but will probably redrill, just because the offset is low. from using various "stance calculators" these fit pretty much where the lip is exposed and the tire is tucked (perfect). but in the front im concerned i'll run into issue of not being to turn my wheel the full way and rub my tires on the wheel well. I plan on having my fenders around 23" from the ground and would also hate to rub the inside of the fenders. now assuming this i would have to roll them and problem solved. i guess my main question is, in using these calculators whats the "fender distance to hub?" so i can see if I have that right. they come as 77mm, but i'm not to sure as too what it is. I'd rather work this all out before buying another set of wheels and finding out they wont fit. (yes this has happened before )

and the tire size is 205/17/45

I am about to lower my 03 Jetta with Raceland Ultimo Coilovers and wanted to get some help. I have Audi R6 Reps 18x8.5 wheels with 215/40/18's for tires. What will I need to lawer this more then the usual 1.5"
I am thinking I want to lower at least 2" all the way around or at least close to it. Will I have any problems in the front with rubbing of wheels or swaybar and also how about the backs rubbing?

Thanks for your help and assistance. Everyone on here has always helped me with my questions and I appreciate it very much.

im getting so confused with off sets.

i want to get 17x8.25 et35 f and 17.9 et25 r. im on racelands and i plan on running a fat track tire. perferably 245/45/17 all around. at the moment i have 17x8 5zigens, with 225/45/17 all around and if i drop the car more than an 1.5in, the backs of the front tires come into contact with the coils lower spring collars.

so if i find a wheel that has a 17x8.25 et45 isnt that gonna be better?
my biggest question is : the larger the number of offset, the farther the back of the wheel will be from the inboard of the car correct?????????????? 3 stooges

and the smaller the offset the closer the wheel will be to the inside of the car.

i was thinking of going with some oz allegretia 18x8 et48+

according to the conversion charts. from the stock 17x7 et 51. im going to have +10mm on my backspacing.

so does that mean im going to need 10 mm spacers so i dont hit my struts?

well since theres no reply here. i did the dirty work myself and checked the stock rim to strut clearance. seems to be about 16mm from rim to strut stock. so i should still have 6mm to my strut with the new rims. woot no spacers required. (17x8 O.Z. alleggerita 48et, 235/45-17)

A6 2.5TDI AVANT 2003 TYRE SIZES & RIM SIZE HELP

Hi, I have a used A6 2.5TDI AVANT 2003 and recently I had to replace tyres, front brake pads & front brake disc. The mechanic informed that the car is not fitted with the original wheels for my car, but from A3.
Not to void the insurance, (i.e not modified car) I would like to install tyres, rims to original spec without modification & WITHOUT SPACER.
Can anyone with 2.5TDI AVANT SPORTS help with tyre and rim sizes? ( tyre size is embossed on the outside of the tyre and the rim size is likewise stamped on the inside of the stem of rim viz 7J X 16 H2 ET45mm or similar)

The problem is compounded that a 5 mm spacer is fitted making the wheel bolts too short for the job and without the spacer, the wheels will not turn.
The existing wheel set up is tyre is 205/55 R16 W on rim 7J X 16 H2 ET45mm and a 50 mm spacer. The big calliper on 2.5TDI requires more space and the existing rim with spacer is very close to the calliper. Basically I need the correct rim and correct tyres without defaulting the insurance.
Is there anyone who can help me identify what is the Audi original spec:
Tyre size? 16 “or 17” (for 2.5 tdi sport someone tells me it should be 17”,)
    Tyre width? 205; 215; or 235mm
Aspect ratio: 45 or 45 or??
    Speed rating?
    Load rating?
    Rim size? 7J or 7.5 J or 8 J
    Pitch: 5 x 112 is this correct>> I have 5 bolt holes.
What is correct offset: 35 or 40 or 45 or something different?
I have attached nameplate from floorpan.

Can anyone decipher & read the tyre size & rim size from this data

I have tried entering my car registration into the following link http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/ts/TyrePressure.aspx
Which gives 3 tyre sizes 1) 205/55R16W91 may not the right one as this is what I now have.
    2) 215/55R16Y93 – may be right; but aspect ratio 55 is too big for calliper.
3)235/45R17w91 – may be right; but not sure.
Can any one help or who has a similar model ,can throw light. Please.

Alright so I have changed my mind on going with the previous setup I had mentioned above. My current setup is gonna be as follows:

    Wheels: 17x7.5
    Offset: 38
Tires: 225/50 or 245/45/17(not sure yet)
Suspension: currently stock, will be mild drop, .5 to 1 inch drop at most

My questions is what size spacer should I run for these to fit correctly with no rubbing issues.

i own a 2000 VW passat Wagon V6, and i currently have the stock 195\65\R15s on the car, and my friend owns a 2002 Audi A41.8T sport package, and his originals are 235\45\R17s. i did the math on the height and everything else so i dnt mess up my trans and speedometer, and the numbers are 25.3469in with mine and 25.6326 for his. i think ill be alright but i dont know the offset differences so i figured id ask what the offset for both cars are so i dont look completely stupid

go to a site like tirerack.com and put your make model year and stuff in, then go to shop by vehicle in the tires bars, then select previously viewed vehicles if you put ur car in already or just put ur info in right ther, when you go to shop for tires itll ask for original spec or custom and it gives you your original tire size which also gives rim size too as last number like 245\45\R17 the last number is the rims size

    * The tyre specification is: 235/45, R17, 7.5J, 93Y.

    * The offset ratio is 43, which is known as the ET number or aspect ratio.

Hey I just got my hands on some 08-10 s5 wheels specs are 19x8.5 32 offset
Not entirely sure the tires I should go with or spacers or even if I need spacers.
Thinking of 15mm spacers and a 235/35 tire... Maybe with those sizes will rub??
    Help or suggestions ? Thanks!

Picked up some BMW wheels cheap and I need help determining if they will work or not. I am hoping they wont poke too much.

They are all 17x8 et34 and I have to run the 20mm adapters to get them on. Any insight would be appreciated, so far I cant wrap my head around the the offsets and wheels widths. Also, if anyone could recommend a tire size that would be great. Oh and they are going on an mk4 gti.

Can someone please help me, i have some 18 x 9.75 wheels but would these work on my 2010 VW CC? I'm sure the tires on it won't fit because the backs are 275/40/18 and the front is 255/40/18.

If these wheels would work, what's the biggest tire i can put without having my fenders pulled/rolled.

    Thanks!

I have a mk6 gti with 18x8 et50 bbs ch's, what spacers might you recommend for the wheels to be more flush with the fenders?

I've got a set of 16" steel rims with new winter tires that came off an '02 Beetle. I wonder if these will fit on an '07 City Golf that currently has 15" stock wheels. My local garage won't give me an answer and seem determined to sell me brand new winter tires for the 15" rims

I want to buy the XXR 530's for my 01 gti that i just recently had an H&R cup kit installed and want to make sure i have a solid fit that looks well without rubbing. I wanted to get 17x8.3 wheels and need to know what size tire to put on them to make them sit nice. The offset is +35. i am currently deployed and don't have much help from stateside so any help would be great. also wheel spacers?
