These buggers get huge! One ran right between my laptop and i when I was laying on the floor one day. Probably the size of a silver dollar. I freaked out and caught it in a glass. It was PISSED. These spiders are super aggressive. *barf, itches, twitches, shutters*

thats what we have in my house and some of them are bigger than silver dollars. i cauht one last week and it mesured 4 inches in width....

i am constantly finding these in my house. i tried to catch one from the corner of the ceiling and the wall a month ago and it jumped and landed on my arm and bit me...
i had gotten really dizzy within 10 minutes and my arm swelled up massive. my arm was swollen for about a week. i ended up having to cut out the infected skin with a razorblade and scraping inside the tissue to remove all the toxins.
    i now have a scar.

i believe that these are the famous brown recluse spiders that i have in my house and they look just like that one.

also alley is not joking when she says these are super aggressive. i caught one of these and was able to catch a hornet and trap it in the jar with the spider and the spider killed the bee and ate it....

lol, nice. I didn't know what they were. Glad they weren't the Wolf spiders I see all the time, the big ass ones. I like having spiders around though.

could be a hobo. IIRC brown recluse leave a much more damage and are more south towards cali ad eastern WA and OR. i have never heard of there being a brown recluse's on thw north western side. not saying it cant happen just seems a bit unheard of IMO

well one of the spiders that bit me the first time i caught and brought to the doctor and they told me it was a confirmed brown recluse... so we do have them here....

we used to have black widows in my old work in the warehouse. which is in wilsonville. they would ride in on the trucks with the paaper from california and survive in our warehouse cause it was always warm.

I used to live in San diego..... some nasty spiders there....

My brother got bit by a black widow when he was 10. He had a black hole in the bottom of his big toe until he was 30. He used to tell me when I was little, that the black widow who bit him lived in the hole, and if I was mean to him it would come out to get me.

I'm just thankful that we don't get the big ones here. I would have to move if I found something like this in my house.

those are found in Australia. they like super thin spaces like behind the clock in that picture. They have been found hiding between the sunvisor and the roof in cars as well. they drop onto people when the visor is lowered.

The cat has been finding these buggers every night for the last 2 weeks. Some are huge, I plan on tossing a couple bug spray bombs under the house ASAP. My house is 38 yr old and I have had it for 10 yrs and this is the most I have ever seen. The biggest too man they are healthy! I will try and catch a bigger one for full eerie effect.

    If these are aggressive then they are most likely Hobo Spiders but they could be giant house spiders. Careful which one you kill. The giant house spiders actually eat the Hobos. Here's a very detail PDF on identifying these buggers;

Once did a science project on spiders in L.A. Put a brown Recluse and a Black widow in a jar together. Brown Recluse won. I still have the video. Better fight then any UFC fight i have ever seen. Lived in Palm Springs Cali for 8 years, they are nasty out there.

All mk4s smell a bit like crayons/candles. All mk3s smell like hot plastic and crayons. All mk2s smell like water damage, and all mk1s smell like mold and electrical fires.

Yeah I def do and wiki says 2ish

How many spiders do people swallow when you are sleep?
    In: Spiders [Edit categories]

    http://www.CascadePest.com

[Improve] The previous person said 8 spiders. I believe this to be false because I have read various articles that make more sense. The answer I believe is correct is that the chance of swallowing even one spider is extremely rare. Think of all the variables that would have to go into it. First you would have to be sleeping in a place with spiders actively crawling around. Second you'd have to be sleeping extremely soundly not to feel 8 legs navigate across your face. Third, your lips have the most sensory neurons in your entire body meaning they can detect motion better than any other part. So assuming the spider makes it with all 8 legs across your face and is on your lips (without you waking and smacking it to death) it would have to choose to venture into a dark hole with blasts of snoring exhales. (I say snoring because if you're sleeping with your mouth open it's highly plausible that's what you're doing) Now if you were a spider would you "venture into the slobbering mouth of a beast?" I mean think of all the other places in the room you could go, so many opportunities! And you opt for the the wind-blasting, wet, dark hole? And finally, there is no known factual recording of this happening, and how would you go about recording that kind of data anyway? By video-recording 100 people sleeping for their entire life to come up with such a statistic? I don't know if I've accurately portrayed my point or not, I have read most of what I've stated from various articles, none of which I can remember the authors to credit, so please note that while reading O_O I'm not an expert by any means.
