    Thread: engine light FLASHING, car shaking, and exhaust smells like bad eggs

      So the wife got in the car this morning for breakfast run......Comes home crying.....why?
      check engine light is blinking, the exhaust smells like rotten eggs, popped the hood and the engine is shaking like crazy.
      Is this a certain sensor that went south?
      2004 Jetta 1.8t stock, auto ....... i work on A/C VW's and Harley's any ideas on this, or have these symptoms happened to any other owners?
      I don't have the VAG COM tool, and can't get to the shop till monday(gotta love weekends)
      any input?

      bad coil pack,,,check your regionals i'm sure somebody has some laying around to sell you.

      youre running hella rich check for loose hoses because if the maf is reading more air than whats actually going into the engine it'll run rich

      x2 definitely a bad pack. since you already have a CEL,to find which one it is without a scanner unplug each injector 1.the one you unplug and the idle does not change will tell you which coil pack is bad.

      Yup, that's exactly what I get when a coilpack goes bad, too.
