I'll be in town Wed and Thurs nights next week. Never ever fly to Melb during Melb Cup week unless you're going to the Melb Cup

What a travesty...

A lot of things about Mam are a travesty,.. but then, well,.. who's the egg here?
PS: Timmeh, you need download the John Safran doco (wednesday nites, SBS1) about interacial love where he does a test for whether he has an asian preference and it's based on smell. (you are in fine company, Safran is an Egg too). For the test, he steal and sniffs about a dozen pairs of underwear. then dedicated the show th the few girls that didn't punch him in the face for stealing and sniffing their dirty knickers. funny stuff. The povo bar section of Rockpool Bar and Grill do the sweetest little wagyu burgers for $22.

Used to be $18. But yes I agree. Best little burger for the money. But Cafe Vue also have a good little burger, or at least they did a couple of years ago...

Cafe Vue, not Vue de Monde. That is the cafe part of it. Not sure if that is what you meant? I have been to Vue de Monde at least half a dozen time this year.

Had one of the better laksas in Melbourne at Sambal Kampun, on Lt Bourke St, near Swanston st intersection.
Good mix of vermicelli, hokkein egg noodle, fried tofu, egg, chicken, prawns and fish balls, all for just $8.50.

Mark and Mike, see you at 12:30pm for lunch tomorrow.
Wayne was going to come, but I think we've offended him.
Actually, it wasn't we, it was Mike.

Are we still going to Chilli Padi or are we going to Sambal Kampung? I thought the idea is to take Mike to Chilli Padi to prove him wrong...

No, we're going to Sambal Kampun to see if he's right. There's three of us that have been to Chilli Padi before, so if he's mistaken, we'll tell him. Bring Ollie along if you like. I'll be riding in.
I assume that if we are going there at 12:30pm, we don't need to book. Mike, if that's wrong, let me know.
See you tomorrow.

Haha there is always a smart one. Bahasa is the generic way of saying Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia.

But the two languages are so different - structurally they are more or less the same but so many words have different root languages, among other things...

See only a non native would be saying all this. This is why laksa should be left to me to judge.

Penang laksa (assam laksa) all the way for me! But yeah, Sarawak Laksa is pretty good too. That is the thing, white breads only know the generic curry laksa, but each state of Malaysia have their own unique laksa that is so different and tasty. I need to take some of you whiteys to try Assam Laksa. It is sour, sweet, hot and tasty! Highly recommended.

I'm a big fan of Penang laksa, and to be honest the only reason I prefer Sarawak laksa is because I've had more fun in Kuching enjoying Laksa recently than I have in Penang - I haven't been to Penang since I was 16!
I could very happily spend my entire 90 day visa free period in Malaysia just going from village to city to village to city and eating

Gonna be taking Monday off for a 4-day weekend.
Will be staying overnight at Queenscliff. Any recommendations on places to eat around there?
Other suggestions along the Great Ocean rd is welcome too.
