thanks for the support, your car looks awesome asswel! I'd like to know and see more about it, notify me when you put up a thread of your own, I'm pretty sure your car deserves that.
some details i love on your car:
-OEM wiperstance rearwindow
Glad you like it Ken. Actually have 134.000 kilometers ~ 83.500 miles and has the following extras: A/C, power steering, power windows and central locking.
I had also thought about buying the Ronal, will change the driving respect the default tire?
Will try to open a thread, but it will be difficult because my english.
P.S: How is that you know a lot of mechanic? that's incredible
On my mechanical knowledge: started when I was 16 on my moped(aprilia rs50), then when I turned 18 bought a gsx750 wich I restored, then sold that for this gti. I'm going to school to become Automotive engineer.
what does IAC stand for?
not sure which part you mean
I'm almost out of parts to clean
I'm gathering everthing so it can go to zinc plating, sandblasting and powercoating.
Just need to remove the front subframe of the car.

I'd use the biggest steel wire brush you can find(the bigger they are, the softer on the metal/plastic), It doesn't look corroded, not sure why you'd even want to mess with that, looks perfectly fine to me
If you want to make it shine, then polish it up after wire brushing or paint it
you should dissamble it completely offcourse
I was going to get a new one, however since it's original, don't mind the beru cap on it, it's temporary. OEM cap on it eventually.
cleaning up the fuell lines:

-the old trans is off my engine
-the head is also off
-so is the oilpomp, clutch, engine mounts, startermotor and that plate between the engine and trans.
cylinder 1: fine
cylinder 2: bit of a score in the wall, my nail catches on it
cylinder 3: fine
cylinder 4: piston is a bit lighter of color(think the injector is probably f*cked), rest is fine
fine, exept for 2 brokes studs for the exhaust, 1 of them is inside the cylinderhead.
clutch was on the edge of being worn, so I need a new one, this one was a sachs
