Sounds good to me,I just moved from KC to Longview, and there was a bigger scene there for sure.
I wont be back there until sometime in November though, on business in Maryland, but I will follow these topics now.

Who loves here. And who wants to start a monthly g2g.

In Longview, there's just me and baka-san from fark.com, and a bunch of bluehaired biddies with aircooled bugs. That's it as far as the local VW/Euro scene goes.
There's Gorman-McCracken (official VW/Mazda stealership) and an independent VW shop on Standard Street.

I'm moving to Longview around the end of november, and am looking for locals to meet up with. The vw scene here in Maryland is pretty good, hoping to meet some people with the same enthusiasm.![]()

You can just about forget about junkyards with any kind of VWs in them around here. I think the nearest decent one is in Denver, ColoradoAs far as mechanics goes, there's Mike, at Expert Tire in Marshall, and that's pretty much my go to guy for all things VW.
Anyway, it's not me who's the anti-aircooled snob. It's them, mostly. Watercooled is just not purist old school enough for them (unless it's a New Beetle, those are tolerated, somewhat.) We might just as well drive Ladas or Hyundais as far as they care.
