what do you guys think of the movie theater next to the VW dealer in longview?

Ha! That's where the aircooled biddies hold their annual whatever it is.

      Blah.
Anyway, any of you guys around Pine Knoll? Crapload of VWs there I noticed.
Further, besides Gorman McCracken, there is also Oak Hill Automotive on Standard St.

You can just about forget about junkyards with any kind of VWs in them around here. I think the nearest decent one is in Denver, Colorado
As far as mechanics goes, there's Mike, at Expert Tire in Marshall, and that's pretty much my go to guy for all things VW.
Anyway, it's not me who's the anti-aircooled snob. It's them, mostly. Watercooled is just not purist old school enough for them (unless it's a New Beetle, those are tolerated, somewhat.) We might just as well drive Ladas or Hyundais as far as they care.

I hope you realize that theres an all VW yard in Austin( 10acres or DUBS) there. A bit pricy but closer than denver.

      I got tools.
I dont follow.to my understanding you just remove the ball joint from the control arm and just unbolt the arm and it falls out.
