Thread: MK4 MP3 Radio, with Volk-L Bluetooth Basic Handsfree

  1. 09-13-2012 03:05 PM #386
Excellent, thanks for the reply. I thought that there was a guy early in the thread who was going to install and test this but I did not see where he reported his results. And the way that I read it was that I might have a problem since I would not have an amp. So this unit does have an integrated amplifier? I guess that I got confused on that point. Information overload, I suppose, after reading this whole thread plus a few others.
    Thanks for the info.

I'm very interested in this radio for my VW polo. I'm from the Netherlands and this radio is here also known as the RMT100. Anyway, it's just the same. But here's my question:

Is it possible to browse/scroll through several maps on a USB stick connected to this radio? I've a 32gb flash USB stick with 3 main maps and several submaps. My old radio only read mp3 files from the main map of the USB stick. I hope this one will do!

As far as I know it will only read the main map, and yes this is the RMT100 and is prob the exact same unit.

FYI - 2+ years and it's still working great! I love the BT streaming from my new Galaxy S3 and it works fine with a 16GB thumb drive.

With the harness to the radio could this be used in any double DIN installation; not necessarily VW.

I would consider it as an OEM-ish look for a 2003 Toyota Matrix (03 and 04 Matrix has Delphi sourced factory stereos if that helps)

seeing that this is a non canbus unit it would work, it wouldn't be plug and play and you would prob need to make your own harness.

Hello guys, I have some troubles with this head-unit on my Polo 9N3. I managed to connect it correctly through a Quadlock - ISO connector, without installing a Cambus adapter.

However although this it is brightness is really weak, and I do not what to do for improving the situation.

In order to replace my old RCD200 I have used the same original VW cable showed in the first page.

    Any ideas ?

Did you run the back light power wire?

When you purchase it from us we terminate the harness correctly for you and label the wires. It doesn't come ready to use out of the package.

To be honest, firstly I connected by myself and the head-unti was actually working, afterwards because there was not ignition and back-light I have resorted to a VW wherein they managed to finalize my job, but with poor results.

I am not completely sure what connections they have made, however it seems they have run a cable (white and light blue) from the left-side of the car, probably from the fuse box.

There's light, but is too weak to seem correct. Do you have more details about how to run the back light power wire ?

    JC,

Thanks for the lightening-quick shipping on this. I haven't ordered anything in while where I've placed an order in the afternoon and then had the item on my doorstep the next morning, where I didn't pay an exorbitant fee.

I also appreciate you setting up the wiring layout for my double-din radio. This will definitely speed up the install when the time comes.
