Great radio! I just installed mine today and love it! If you don't mind paying more for a factory look, it's well worth it. The blue tooth is such a great thing to have when you commute. Also, I play all my music off of my USB drive now which is great. Also nice to know I can stream music through my iphone via bluetooth.

For some odd reason, my Droid would not play BT equipped Pandora but it would just make/receive calls, not play any sound. I faintly heard it when I turned the speakers up to MAX but I doubt that's "proper" operation.

Any ideas? It's a Moto Droid 1. And I purchased an MK4 GLI w/ this radio in it.

I would suggest trying to pair a different device with the radio to make sure the radio is working properly. If the other device plays correct it is an issue with the phone, if the other device has the same issue it will be a problem with the radio that we have not yet had to deal with.

I searched a bit, and noticed that people said they could "hold down the music note" button, and turn up the BT gain a bit. Maybe that's my issue. The car is home, so I may try it after work or at the latest tomorrow.

Yeah, as I thought there was something wrong in the settings "BT Audio" was set to off. I changed that, and all's well

      I love this radio

Good to hear, do you need a user manual for the radio? I can send you a PDF if you shoot me an email address.

VW has raised the price of the BT radio as of today (4/1/11). It is now $379.36 shipped anywhere in the 48 states.

Wow, this has actually made my decision a little harder. I am starting to get discouraged. So from what I've gathered from my research on past posts is that:
      1. I will loose overall sound quality compared to stock Monsoon system
      2. Streaming BlueTooth audio will loose even more sound quality.
      3. It will not charge my iPhone 4 via USB
      4. When using the bluetooth phone the person on the other end can hardly hear you.

So is this even worth spending almost $400 out-the-door for this unit.?

I do need to replace my current Monsoon deck, so I'm starting to consider if buying a used Monsoon deck for under $100 and simply wiring Aux input to be able to play music from my iPhone would be the smarter option.
