It's official, after having our own forum for nearly a year and a half, we're moving back to the 'tex. It was simply too difficult for people new to the area to find us lurking off in our own little corner of the internet, and it was always a hassle for those of us running the boards. Not to mention the lack of attention to local GTGs from all but the same inner circle of folks. So, for the whole ColaDubs crew, welcome home.

Whats up people. I'm back. Picked up a new dub, an '03 GLI. We're taking the Cabrio off the road for a few months to do some work, motor swap, new interior, and new wheels(we're sending the steelies to get widened).

I think it looks like the mkV should have to begin with. I always hated the fish face grill on the mkV GTI. The mkV Rabbit was a much more logical progression of the Golf design.

Passed a mk3 Jetta on the way to work this morning with four kayaks on the roof rack. Poor little car looked tiny underneath all of that. I can't imagine what would've happened if he had hit a strong crosswind!

So forum sponsors can now randomly post advertisements in other people's threads? What's up with that?

Thanks everyone. I'm happy to be back in my own dub, not just riding in the Cabrio with the wife. Need to take it to get the tint replaced. Fixed the leaky sunroof yesterday.

We'll be moving the Cabrio into the garage this month to get started on the motor swap, new interior, and new wheel set up. Still have some decisions to make on it.

Still have the Mustang, it will be staying on the trailer unless we're at the track for now on.

Oh yeah, I'm a full-time student again. I'm at Midlands right now, transferring to the Engineering program at USC next fall.

We've been busy all summer and hope to get the MKI GTI (thanks Chad) in the shop and install the 16V in it. If not the '55 Chevy wagon will go in next.

    Also where is Brenda??

find us at the show for details!

Yesterday while driving in the rain, the nut that holds the wiper motor arm in place loosened up on me. Luckily, I only had to make it from Harbison to my house. Even with rain-x, a mk4 windshield sucks in the rain without functional wipers at anything less than interstate speeds. I get to tear into it tonight and tighten everything back up. Of course, that gives me an excuse to pull the ECU and reflash the chip with a different setup. Since the stock program doesn't get along with the N75 J-valve, I'm going to ditch it in favor of the 100-octane race gas program.

Bummer. Too late to take time off work Sunday to go for me. Otherwise, I'd be all over those. Last time I saw Metallica live they were touring with Guns N' Roses!

is that one of the times that GnR actually played? or was that the norm of Axle getting his panties in a wad and walking off stage

Got lucky and they actually played. Was in New Orleans. Killer show. James Hetfield was on Bourbon Street after the show piss drunk. Cool guy though. Nothing like you would expect him to be.
