They are both good. Integrated Engineering is very well-known for their quality control and precision. Scat rods have been in the business for a very long time. IE rods are more affordable because we are their biggest distributor but quality-wise both companies put a lot of work into their products.

Basically this is how I would buy rods:

    06A block, VR6, R32, 2.7T, ABF etc - Integrated Engineering
058 block (aka AEB block) - SCAT

    Dear Santa,
this Christmas I would like the followings:
    RODS
    ....
Ok here's a scoop guys, Rudolph developed a drinking habit (that red nose isn't magic...) so Santa had to switch to a Eurovan diesel for deliveries. Unfortunately it's pretty cold around the north pole and Santa has no electricity to plug his van in. Save your car the deception when she finds that out on the faithful morning and order from www.ctsturbo.com , we ship everyday, worldwide and no matter the weather!

AWD engines use 20mm pins if I'm not mistaken, so you'd need the 144x20mm IE rods, which we have in stock

Are these rods 100% ready to drop in, or is there any machine work needed?
    It's not always about "racekar"...

All of them are drop in assuming you choose the correct rods for your engine/pistons

i really want to buy these.

can you tell me what is a normal price to pay for install?

also, i have seen some people just "slap them in". I am capable of removing my rods, and just reinstalling new ones.

what are your thoughts about, in a perfeectly fine, working engine, removing the stock rods, and just slapping in new ones with new bearings? not touching pistons or rings, not plastigauging.

I suggest talking to your local tuner shop, rates in labor vary from shop to shop. Often times people re-use the original piston rings, I wouldn't do that in most cases though.

Friday we had a MK4 R32 in for some suspension creaks, and some regular Haldex, Transmission and differential maintenance. As you can see from the picture the upper strut bearings needed some love, they were worn, compressed and causing noise due to rubbing on the upper spring hat. It is very important, easy and cheap to maintain the Haldex system and rear differential in the R32′s and TTQ’s, don’t neglect your AWD systems or you may get a big nasty bill!

Yes, there are piston/rod combos on our website. IE is out of stock on the 144x20mm rods for the next 4 weeks apparently and we've only got enough to fill existing orders. If you'd like some pricing feel free to drop us a PM or email: sales@ctsturbo.com

    Cheers

BTW..this turbo you sent me...pretty bad ass. I am not going to lie, I installed it and was like "meh" regarding the spool. I parked the car for the winter and kinda forgot about it til last week when I installed some 268s fresh out of storage. And holy crap. The spool comes in way earlier. It is by far more predictable and easier to put the power down without vaporizing tires. And yes this is way easier on the running gear. Thank you for the suggestion...I see alot of value in what I got for my money. But it had me thinking about building a bottom end now. I will try and get some video when I can.
