We see them occasionally down here in OR. Surprisingly normal cars too.

My friend used to have a 2.5 RS, was such a great car. Had all the bolt ons for NA performance, cams, tune, headers, exhaust, intake, clutch, flywheel, suspension, brakes etc. The car was so well balanced and sounded SO awesome.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Quite a shakedown for a car I had just bought a week before.Great story. But that was completely unexpected. I was thinking how awesome that trip would be, but I would never do it unless it was a car I had owned some time and knew everything about. and then I read that last sentence of your post. Ballsy!

I love the film pics as well. They look amazing, especially the shots of abandoned places.

Awesome trip and your photos are amazing. I really like the car to, I was actually looking for one before I bought my SVTF and couldn't find one I liked in my price range. No joke, 3 days after I bought my car, one went up for sale, 4 door 5spd in the color I wanted less than 5 miles from me.![]()

And did you do the whole trip on summer tires?Sept-Oct, yeah all on summer times which i'm still running and were getting snow here.
Quote, originally posted by Tropical VR6 » Really cool trip and photos...!!!! Three quick questions:
1. How many tanks of gas did you go through over the entire trip...?
2. How many miles were on the car when you bought it...? Must be a solid car since you put 8500 miles on it with no problems...?
3. Got any more pics you can share of the trip...?

I dunno, I filled up every chance I got in Canada so it stopped being full tanks.

I've got more pictures but they're not really car related, I'll put them on the back the first post though.

To this day it is still my favorite car I ever owned. Those GC8's will always be near and dear to my heart I'm jealous. I never get to drive much any more. Your trip covered more miles than I drive in a 2 or 3 year span.
Great photos too. Love the B&W ones especially.
Is this who I bought the car from?! Dude! He was the original owner for 9 years to.

You are absolutely right on that point! Definitely seems like the same hairpin!

On second guess. They look similar but I guess they aren't the same... No guardrails in the gif and the hairpin seems to have a larger radius than the one in his pic. Still and awesom Shot and an awesome thread!
