I have seen a few articles with top ten lists or the hottest dozen Droid apps, but I am curious to see what the collective here has to say.... so what are you favorite Droid apps? Also, how much is each one?

Careful on the xda link, that's not 2.0 specific. Some earlier apps may do things like drain batteries of droids, etc. We have seen this where an app may leave gps on 100% of the time and the user may not realize it.

I think weatherbug leaves gps on if you allow it to set your location. This is #1 for me, but I use my zip code until they work the "bugs" out.

ConnectBot - outstanding ssh client, can also setup port forwarding!

Google Nav - you never said apps had to be downloaded I love it!

ShopSavvy - barcode scanner, price lookup. They updated this (I think last Sunday), and it's flawless on the droid.

PdaNet - allows tethering, full version is $30.

Last.FM - use it all the time to stream music

Voice Search - again, preinstalled but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty damn slick!

Google Voice - excellent native integration! Get a plan with your fav 5, add your GV number and instant free US calling forevarz It allows you options to use it for every call, never use it for calls, or to prompt you on every call. I also think there's an international only option, too.

MPT doesn't work with Droid (android 2.0). MPT did rock in it's day! Here let me make a comparison that you'll understand:

I hope the iphone is better than a newton. I'm looking at you Apple

nesoid/snesoid -- nes/snes emulation. $3.49 each. Updated for 2.0, and seem to work very well. Load roms in .zip (.nes/.snes inside) format and play away!

weather channel -- don't know if this is better than weatherbug, but it works well and after what seemed like some update problems at first, it's been running flawlessly since friday night. I use zipcode so I can disable GPS

Advanced task killer free -- does what it says. like this better than automatic task killer so I can be in control. I have NOT experienced slowdown even with tons of apps open, but I like to kill **** anyway.

DockRunner -- tricks the phone into thinking its in the multimedia dock.. very slick

SportsTap -- best sports app I've come across. covers everything an American would want

Heck yeah! I use both of those and LOVE them! I might pay for the task killer just to lose those damn ads !

I dont think the mytouch 3g is compatible w/ 2.0, but it sounds awesome. I really want the new Navi.

    Weather Forecast -

It's not the most advanced weather app but it's the cleanest, IMO. The weather channel 'app' was to heavy for me, it had a lot of features but they didn't warrant the apps slow load times. Weather Forecast is perfect if you want a simple, highly configurable weather app. It has a bunch of different widget sizes (1x1 all the way to 4x4) and the payed version has a ton of skins. You can set location manually or by GPS and control the widgets update time. You can see screencaps of the app here http://www.androlib.com/androi....aspx

LockPattern OnOff is one of my favorite apps. It's the "draw pattern to unlock" app with the little circles.

    crappy pic

    Looks sweet on the droid!

Similar to Outlook Mobile, in features and options, but more robust...for POP3/web accounts.
