On the topic of Apple TV. Does anyone know of a decent 2.1 system I can connect up to the Apple TV for when I'm watching movies?
The system has to have optical input which is my stumbling block. I have a nice system from JBL already but it doesn't have optical input.
I was checking out a Bose system at Myer the other day but $999 is a bit more than I was looking to spend.
Cheers

Samsung have some home theatres that are 5.1 but would do the job for $500 I reckon.

Mac Mini, Keyboard and Magic Trackpad. Ha Ha **** apple are mongs though. First of all the email with my receipt from the apple store is tagged as junk mail by the mail client and then I get an email telling me I downloaded from the mac app store on a computer not previously associated with my Apple ID. No **** Sherlock I just bought a new computer off you![]()

They finally made one for my fat head.
So comfy, may have to buy a back-up pair.

What brand are those? I just took my Starck Eyes frame back because the paint was peeling off and the lenses always fall out. And they look pretty similar to those frames.

IC! Berlin?
Mike, are these really 22g? My RudyProject Heliums are 18g with lenses.

Yeah, IC! Berlins. But different finish. 1128 Urban. I'll try to get them weighed tomorrow, but yeah, they're stunningly lightweight compared to my previous Porsche Design P8139.

That looks pretty cool. How much was it and did you buy it locally? Am thinking of getting something for the bedroom too.

$399 from Duratone Hi-Fi in Canberra.
You can probably pick it up for around $300 on eBay via the UK but would need an adapter to suit our powerpoints. The plug/transformer uses an adapter anyway (similar theory to iPhone charger), so if you could get the Australian plug prior to shipping you'd be sorted.
You can probably buy online locally for $349.
There is a light sensor on the front which, when set to "automatic" will dim the display so it's not too bright during the night. There's two catches to this...
1. The sensor doesn't work in standby mode (radio off), which means during the day it defaults to its dimmest setting and it's quite difficult to read the time.
2. The front panel looks like it is made of metal, but it's actually plastic. At night once your eyes adjust light seeps from around the display and almost appears as though the top half of front panel is backlit. It's not so bright so as to keep you awake by any means, it just looks a bit cheap (IMO).
On the positive side the sound quality is amazing. Radio National has never sounded so good.![]()

Bought a house on Wednesday - ~100 year-old 2-bed timber cottage with a ~1970's brick extension (3rd bedroom & enclosed verandah), mostly renovated 5 years ago.
Settlement on 28th May
EDIT: Pics or it didn't happen:

I ordered about 10-15 mins after they went on sale, and it arrived today. I suspect it's one of a very small handful in Singapore. The global waiting list is 350,000 people long now!

RS Australia are letting the first 4000 people on the list access the order page. A mate made the cut, but I didn't..

Bought an Electrolux dryer, Breville 'smart' kettle, and a Sunbeam cafe-series toaster - was tempted to get a Kitchenaid toaster to match the mixer & dryer, but the reviews all say they're ****house - Dualit seems to be good, but they're still 2.5x the cost of the Sunbeam... Also bought an antique kitchen buffet & hutch.
Tomorrow, I technically sell an apartment & buy a house at 1pm - 3-way settlement with 4 solicitors & 5 banks! Fingers crossed everyone shows up!

Looking for a new dryer to suit family of 6. I'm considering buying 2 smaller ones instead of a massive one, we have space that's not an issue. (not having 3-phase power is a bit restrictive)

Not the prettiest things, but a mate with 6 kids under 14 swears by one of these;
