So I bought the car (after a successful inspection), now waiting for a tracking number so I can see how long the bl00dy courier company takes to drive from Perth -> Sydney.

I've already got a large pile of parts sitting here waiting for the car to arrive... including new headunit, MDI, amp, speakers, bluetooth, smoked indicators, stubby antenna & an engine mount insert - plus some blue coil caps from Costa

Engineered in Germany. That is all that counts. My X5M was also US built.

hey? have you got more detail on the Time Attack Subie? I've read the posts above about the wing,... have you got more info?

at the very opposite end of the spectrum, my little car is getting a lightweight flywheel and new clutch in the new few months, and I'm currently pricing up a pair of limited slippy diffs..... (my rear diff has taken a pounding, and it's starting to make unhappy sounds,... not that it's surprising,... hehehehe).

Actually...here's a question for you (and it's one that I've raised with a few subie shops): is there any benefit going for a slippy diff on the rear only, rather than a stock subie diff?

      any thoughts?

      later.

these would look and feel great on your car, tim.

When I get back to my office I'll send you some pics Tim.

I thought the rear diff was an LSD, but just viscous. Do you mean benefits of a plated diff? Actually, given I went to work Wednesday morning after 3 hours sleep, and I have just now got home, I'll get back to you on that.

Hahaha thanks! Good seeing you today Mark. Been awhile! Anyway the story is, I bumped into Mark at BMW today. He meets my wife and proceeds to tell her how dangerous Australian Tarmac Challenge is and that I should not be participating. Bas.tard.

That was an early "cunning plan" but when I was told the delivery time I choked.

The TSI is plenty for Annie and she gets to drive my GTI when I'm a bit tired.

Yeah the wait is a bit of a pain! I wonder if I would ever get mine, or if I would still be interested when it comes lol.

Yeah...........I used to do the occasional "comedy actor double take" at the pump if I wasn't concentrating.

Will be much easier now as both cars are petrol.

But sh!tbags, that GTI sucks petrol doesn't it
