    had another cheap day today...

bought a Herman Miller Airia desk and cabinet:

and a pair of B&W PM1's with their matching stands:

also bought a Squeezebox Touch earlier in the week.

  7. 09-22-2012 05:04 AM #2772
Where you get the Herman from?

  8. 09-22-2012 05:10 AM #2773
Living Edge, they were SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the other place I saw them at (as in $1000+ cheaper in total)

You've got great taste. Gonna have to have a quiet word with you soon about where you source your stuff from (googling living edge now)

Congrats. I'm surprised you didn't buy a GTI actually given the deals you can get on them. Anyway it's good not to have to wait.

    On the shopping list was:
Hyundai voloster (in the end i just couldn't do it, standard spec was spectacular)
Mazda SP25 (stock is very limited at the moment, $34k was the best price I got)
Holden Storm SV6 ute in perfect blue (absolute best price I could get was $34.5k)
Opel GTC Coupe (base model coupe best price $31.5k)

In the end, the Golf 118TSi with Sports pack was $30.5k, well specced and IMO a better car than all of the others. The young bloke preferred the ute but I just couldn't get the $ low enough. I think calling dealers across the east coast helped with the price in the end, giving me a benchmark to push he in Canberra.

Wayne, a gti golf would have been great too, I did have it on the list for a while but THE BEST price I could get was $37k for a white manual, $6-7k over where I wanted to be, couldn't justify it for its intended purpose tbh (that was with dealers in Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra)

Liam, that's the theory or the process, the 2nd step hasn't happened just yet hahaha in the meantime the 1M that's for sale is "resting" and the golf has become the Mrs daily driver.

Can't remember how much the last Braun one I bought was for, but it was probably $199 or something like that so yeah this appears expensive. BUT, you are thinking the wrong way. Remember how much the last time you (or anyone you know) spend at the dentist doing dental work? Well, this isn't so expensive anymore is it! If it keeps you away from the dentist then it is all worth it!

    Yes.

Ordered at 11pm last Wednesday. I paid an extra $10 to try and get it here by the weekend, no luck there. But I may have got it yesterday if it wasn't a public holiday in Canberra yesterday.

Sold our house last night, saves having the auction tomorrow, and we got what we wanted, with settlement 7 days after settlement on the new house.

    Perfect result

Those sonicare toothbrushes are the best toothbrushes in the market. I've bought four of them. Can't take enough care of your teeth IMO.

Congrats on the house transaction Micky. Don't regret doing a Reno like Liam?

haha, no matter how nice you make a house in Seaford, it's still in Seaford

(that said, I actually quite like the area, it's just too far from the city & work)

Really. My cheap old Braun elec brush needs replacing, but I was thinking I would actually go and buy a manual brush, and spend money on those thing that blast water through the gaps in your teeth, instead of flossing. My Dentist seems to think they are a good idea?

  34. 10-12-2012 03:33 AM #2799
    The Phillips Sonicare AirFloss?

Bought one a while ago. Last trip to the dentist, the Hygenist got all happy with my teeth, so they must work. All I know is that it finds crud my electric brush doesn't.

Still using my old braun electric brush. Waiting for it to die...

Well I haven't seen a Phillips one, but I've seen others... There are Braun ones, but I was targeting an American brand Waterpik, as they have a cordless one with a built in water tank... Which is my only option as there's no power points in the bathroom (they're illegal here)
