Now will the k04 make up the difference in Sandors granny shifting, or will it be the 'burg shiffting brutality for the win??
Spring VWoT meets are gonna fun this year
Myself, Sandor, and you just in VWoT alone.....1.8T coupe madness.

i'm running unitronic, and i've been told that running meth won't be an issue. AFAIK, it's going to be a matter of hooking it all up, and letting the computer figure out the rest.
i'd love to go K04 or even BT at some point, but the amount of power this thing is going to be putting out is going to make it difficult to find traction already, even with a diff.

      Nice work!
I definitely like the dog bone mount you've got there. I am in need of something similar and may take this idea to fab mine. Originally I've been looking at using a small shock absorber but I like this idea better.

cool build. sorta wondering what you're gonna do to prevent the intercooler from getting heat soaked by the exhaust heat raising up from underneath.

the shock is a good idea, but it'll flex too much the more you load it up. admittedly, this set up will shake the shasta out of pimp, but i think i'll be ok with it.

the hood is going to get a square cut out of it for ventilation, and a 7" fan will be strapped to the bottom of it. the turbo will have some sort of heat shielding around it, and the car will eventually run an h2sport water/meth kit for additional cooling/octane assistance.
day to day driving shouldn't be too bad, but it'll be interested to see how it performs on lapping days.
BTW, your signature hurt my brain.

Jay how are you going to work the e brake cables? Not sure how the mk4 style cables run but I know I had a lot of fun setting up my mk3 set up in the scirocco

You'll be fine. You ARE the same person that went to Waterfest AND Cincy the one year in a stripped out mk1 'rocco with full race suspension and tires, right?

      yes. that is the plan.
i saw it for the first time at the 2000 detroit auto show on the AMG SLA, and was struck by how simple an idea it was to get around something that would eventually get in my way.

got a set of mk2 cable guides that we're going to mount, and i'll be using the scirocco 16V cables that are already on the car.

nice! good luck with that. i'm really surprised at how many mk1 coupes are getting built/have been built recently. i guess i'm not the only one that thinks they're the best of the mk1 body style

yes and no. the suspension was made up of bilstein sport struts (good), and 8 year old neuspeed race springs [when they were wound by H&R] (good) with at least 4 coils cut front and rear (bad). the car rode like a it had no rubber anywhere in it, and i loved it.

and the best part is that the car will be done in time for me to drive through the ice and snow just so i can park it for 4 months. so mint.

      minor update:
the original heater core hole is gone:

so the mk4 gas pedal could be mounted:

one hole is no more, 173 more to go:

i had one task. drill a hole right in the middle...yes, i'm THAT useless:

3" SS UJ to help the turbo spit a bit harder:

      the new heater core:

the stock wiper linkage is getting modded for single-wiper duty:

      hopefully more to come tomorrow...
