Sorry for the crappy pictures, they weren't exactly cooperating, but there was a line of about 9 Roxster's cruising by the beach this morning. Taken with my cell phone, but you get the idea. Size wise is about the same as an X3, looked pretty good

Roxster? Did I miss the memo about it? So they're bringing a X3 sized SUV to the market now?

There was a thread awhile back listing future products from Porsche with a deadline.

    This was one of them.

I'm a label whore, and I want a SUV with decent fuel mileage. Give me this with a V6T/S and I'll buy one.

porsche needs to be more low volume and be above all this "cute ute ****"
the range should be as follows
    *911: (duh)

*boxter/cayman/new 914/whatever: one model hardtop and convert available curb weight below 2600 lbs

    *928/panamera: available as a 2 door or 4 door.

*low volume supercar every 6-10 years.

What are we gonna do now?

The Tiguan is designed on a platform for transverse engines (and a somewhat outdated one, by now, for that matter - related to the MkV Golf and the Eos).

The Q5 is on the Audi longitudinal engine platform, and also has a much wider stance. There is really nothing in common between them.

This is where I go for my run in the morning...

BMW tends to have several testing vehicles as well at any given time.

and how are they going to pay for all of that?

I saw the same ones in Fort Providence NWT on Nov 8. There were only 8 when I saw them. About the same size as the Tiguan or Q5.

Porsche's profit margins (and for that matter, its executive management team) disagree 100%.

I hope not, because the name makes no sense.

Boxster is short for "Boxer Roadster".

What are people claiming Roxster is short for?

It's a fun, youthful sounding name. Who cares what it means, so long as it is not offensive to some sort of race/religion/ethnicity? A "Cayenne" after all, is not a big spicy pepper.
