The dash itself is not rare at all even though the 3.5 Cabrio only ran from '99-'02, a total of 4 production years. The dimpled passenger airbag cover would be a lot rarer because every front-wrecked 3.5 Cabrio would not have it and I sold mine for a pretty penny. Everyone wants a dimpled dash but not everyone believes it would be worth all of the work involved to do a dash swap unless they really have to if the heater core goes out or something like that.

vento dash > dimple dash IMO as you gain some lights in the swap.

I'm sure he's talking about the ones in the AC vents.

Pics? I would think the Cabrio carpets would be cut differently (smaller) because of the lower shelf and rear seat back brace.

I had thought of getting Golf carpets and cutting them to fit.

Some cool looking parts I found while searching the picture archives of ETKA. I just searched the directories for file names that had "1H" (Mk3 base part number), "357" (Passat B3), "3A0" (Passat B4), or "1E" (Cabrio). These parts are commonly found on Mk3s, but there may be others (for example the air filter that fits a Mk3 has a "1J" Mk4 part number). There are too many files to search each one individually. Filename is the part number (if complete).

    Nokia DSP Unit

    Nokia DSP harness

    Nokia DSP Control Panel

    Nokia DSP Subwoofer

Votex Subwoofer (not sure if it's different from above)

    Cool shift knobs

    Different looking steelie

    Fischer Box

Spoiler, I think for a Variant, with brake light

    Spoiler for a Jetta

    Cool model car

    Odd red cluster

    Roof racks (Votex I assume)

    90s Votex Alarm

    Magic tails

Colour Concept floor mats? perfect for a Harle

    Cabrio windscreen

    Cabrio roof rack

    Cabrio wood steering wheel

Cool cars (not sure what specific parts they're showing off, but I didn't look up the numbers)

Don't forget Mk3.5 Cabrio Vin code "1V" in the forst two letters. The 3.5 is a bastard of sorts so you'll find that it is composed mostly of Mk3 base "1H", Cabrio "1E", and Mk4 "1J". But then there are also several parts that are Mk3.5 specific and sport "1V" part numbers.

I've noticed that a lot of parts on my 3.5 seem to start with "1E0" or "1EM". Same with "1H0" vs. "1HM". The "M" means Mexican-production (for USA market) specific Mk3 parts. The 3.5 bumpers, for example, still have a "1E0" part number, and the dimple dash is a "1EM" part. So it's kind of a grab bag. The general rule is "1H" for Mk3 parts, "1E' for Cabrio, "0" for universal/Euro parts, "M" for Puebla/USA parts.

I know that 1V is the VIN code, but I've honestly never seen any parts coded as such. I searched "1V" but didn't find anything.

I could be mistaken. If I find a part coded 1V I'll post it up

I had no idea, but apparently this purple interior is common on purple Golf VR6s in Europe. I just came across 3 on Uk eBay.

The airbag seats were common to all 99s and maybe 98s, I believe. Similar to the ones in my 3.5.
I want that lower door strip thing. Looks like some kind of noise or weatherstrip.

Hmm. Maybe it was an extra option then. Every one I've seen has had it, but that's a statistically small sample

I don't know how rare these bumpers, but maybe someonecould tell me the truth about them.
As far as i know it's the GT Special's bumpers and they are made from two kind of textured plastic. The colours are black and grey. Here are two pictures:

    I hope it's really rare!

    Came in Purple Highlines.

I've been searching for a LONG time for a perfect set that the seller is willing to ship here, and for under $1500 as most of them want after shipping. No luck as of yet.

Airbag seats were options on 98+ Mk3's, and I BELIEVE standard on late 99's, as I have yet to see a late build date without them.

like you said. unpainted euro bumper, only for GT Special. when you strip the paint from every bumper you should have that colour under it. not rare

i think you missed the point. the lower part of the bumper is textured as well, not just the top piece and valance.

I would love to see a set of those with the power folding feature

About that gray bumper... under paint, it should be smooth, so if the middle section is also textured, that should be rare, right?

I hate the way our mk3s get so much dirt in between our door jambs.
Would love to correct this with double door seals like the newer cars.
I wonder what that part is/ does under the door above

Actually this only happens because were all lowered lol. All lowered cars get really dirty in the jams. If you clean them once a week and even wax your jams like I do then cleaning them is a breeze
