Sold all my vintage hifi kit (Yamaha, marantz) and currently selling Mordaunt Short MS10's.
Bought new Ugly Cables interconnects, and moving my rear speakers (Krix Brix) to the study as there's limited space - will replace the rears with some Equinox or KDX or whatever's easily available.
Turned my sub back on after 5 years of living in an apartment - its nice to have < 30Hz again
EDIT: Anyone know where to get foam pads for Sennheiser's?

Waynes money/wall pissing activities aint got sh*t on this guy
Picked up the B&W PM1's yesterday, hooked them up to a 30 year old Philips 45wpc integrated I had in the back of the cupboard, and a cambridge DACMagic that I've been lent.... first test was just with the Apple TV via optical into the DAC, streaming some FLAC files from my phone, and I had to double check I hadn't turned the main amp on and was driving the sub..... for a small bookshelf speaker, that weren't even on their stands (just sitting on some pillowcases on the TV stand so as not to get scratched), the PM1's sound ****ing awesome.
Can't wait to hook them up to a decent amp and on their proper stands.
Currently trying to decide between the Peachtree Nova125 (when it comes out...), or the Cambridge Audio 851A and a DACMagic Plus. Nova doesn't have tone controls, which is the only thing that's putting me off it (and yes, I know some people will consider them sacrilege...)
Here's an interesting read http://www.kenrockwell.com/audio/sony/1982.htm
Are SACDs and outboard DACs really as terrible as he says they are? I'm not enough of a sound engineer to know if he's telling the truth or not.
Elements of truth in what he says.
Vast majority of CDs are not recorded or mastered in ideal 'audiophile' situations.
Get yourself a Chesky recording in HiRes and you can listen to what a good recording should sound like.
I love my 8k DAC, my Phonitor amp and LCD2s, but at the end of the day, I want to listen to music, not frequency responses and square waves. I could just as easily be happy with lesser equipment.
he comments that outboard DAC's can't handle the artificial >0db peaks, I'm curious as to why the internal DAC in the CD player would be any different.....
oh, and I ordered the Cambridge 651A and a DACMagic Plus today. got them at 25% of RRP without even really trying.
