I've gone through that damn signature like four times now, and am far too lazy to find out which letter I'm missing. I apologize. The car is currently still running the stock turbo/manifold. The basic bolt ons are in place; exhaust, intercooler piping, MBC, intercooler, methanol, etc. Dynoed last time at 330/350.
Ordered, and hopefully coming in soon, will be an FP green stock frame turbo. Realistically, it's not a big turbo; I don't want some laggy (moreso) beast of war; I have a GT40 powered Evo 8, why do the same with, ya know, a NICE car?
So, in will come the turbo, ported and coated, cams, springs and retainers, headgasket, head bolts, exhaust downpipe (in the X, the downpipe isn't really a huge restriction on the stock turbo), and a tubular manifold w/ EWG port grafted on. Going to simply route the EWG to vent to atmosphere, so it's going to sound like it just screwed a demon every time I pull 18lbs of boost, but it'll be exciting.
On the much-needed tire/wheel/suspension side; Swift (1" and 0.6" drop) springs, 18x9.5 Rotas (LOLOLZ ROTA) and either NT05s or Hankook V12s in 265/35; haven't decided yet. Just put some V12s on the STI, and like them decently enough; they'll sure as hell last longer than the NT05s.
My "goal" is 400ish WHP, which I think is eminently doable w/ the mods I have coming. The stock turbo is just a horrible unit, running out of breath at ~6500 RPM. Plan to be able to rev this closer to 8k, and still be pushing air.

Well then HD you would have been really salty if we ran together w/ my NA MKIV R then. I fully expect a phone call from Jesse's wife any day now giving me an ear full about his parts requests.

I'm an NA guy, but that sounds awesome. EWG = Electronic (electric?) Waste Gate?
Also, I'm running the V12's, They pretty much only had the trip up to NC to break em in (600 miles) and I loved them, very predictable tire, even when they were screaming I wasn't scared of losing all traction. I've had them on for about 5 weeks with the hard driving on the dragon (breaking em loose at points but I'm running 225/40/18) and I have 5/10's left on them, ~3,000 miles on them with a lot of hard driving. I would probably already be looking at new tires if I had the NT05's.

External waste gate; instead of a small little dinky internally gated turbo, we weld that shut, then do a wastegate flange on the manifold itself to control boost. Allows for tighter control, no tapering at higher RPM.
The downside of dumping it straight down is, well, it sounds like an angry demon when it opens at the wastegate pressure, which is 18PSI. And it doesn't even sound GOOD, like an R32, it just sounds like hell. Bad. Terrible. Terrible noise, mixed in with hell.
But I <3 it.

Yeah, I'm just concerned the NT05s will be, frankly, a waste for me 99% of the time; I'd have some racing slick for my daily driver car, end up eating them all up before a trip, and be screwed tread wise when I start to actually push em. The V12s looked like a good compromise.

Besides the fact I couldn't figure out how to turn the defogger on, at like 9PM in the dark in ZPrime's car, the Mk5 seemed neato. Well, neato at 15MPH driving to the lodge.
On the plus side, the first time following my car, when ZPrime drove it, I noticed three things:
1) No cat=smells like hell.
2) It's loud.
3) Zprime can't drive stick.lolz.

They are. I was looking at the Z-star specs and i chose these because they're cheaper and will last longer..Sounds familiar, not to hate

I was worried about that too when i put on NT-05s, but honestly they didn't wear too bad. I expected to have nothing left after 2500 miles plus lots of hard driving for 4 days straight but i got back and i still have half my tread left.

Not a dumb question. Re-routing it back into the exhaust can lead to turbulence in the exhaust, as the wastegate flow mixes with the normal exhaust gas. By keeping them completely separate, we eliminate that chance, and gain power.
In the case of a properly routed EWG, and dumping to atmosphere, it might, literally, be like 2 WHP; but I like the sound. ROAAAAAAR.

well... so much for this sport alignment. The insides of my front tires are shot.... Ugh.... It definitely wasn't worth changing alignments. What are some tire recommendations? I had Bridgestone RE-01 R's... I was happy with them but... since they've been discontinued I guess I'll need 4 new ones... err......
