Doesn't look too safe. Especially on gravel. I hope no one actually got under that car.

I was about to commend you on your keen eye as the only real telltale sign is the fenders, but I'm sure you've seen the evolution of that car.

I helps when you have the PVW poster of both cars on yer wall.. But yea, Big Ron sold the shell then built it for the new owner. Baseball glove stitched TT seats & dash. Shaved R32. Everything else is pretty much the same as when BR had it. This is the Babe Ruth...Mickey Mantle...Dale Ernhardt...Michael Jordan of the VW world. The list of "first car to do..." is endless.

      And since i'm on the subject...(Legends )
(C&P'd from "The best of the best" thread on another board)http://www.vwgolf.net.au

      Ground breaking - Simon Sweetland's 20vt (A20V SS)
Evolved over 10 years to become a true ground breaking MK2. One of the first to be taken to a true 'Show Car' level but remaining driveable, first car with a Rallye front end and small bumpers, first to feature a fully chromed 20vt engine & smoothed engine bay.
      Specs
      Engine: Chromed 20vt
Chassis: Coilovers. Triple chromed BBS RS wheels
Exterior: Custom Zafiro Blue paint, painted small bumpers, Rallye front end, audi door handles
      Interior: Full cream leather
What makes it so special: A true pioneer, detailing taken to a new level

      OEM++ Pete McGinleys G60
One of the best OEM+ MK2's. Completley restored with awesome attention to detail using genuine VW parts. Built with total dedication, using only the best parts and recipts of 20,000 pounds. Perfect stance.
      Specs
      Engine: Original 8v G60
Chassis: Coilovers. Fully custom & restored BBS RS
Exterior: Repainted in original Bright Blue Metalic, details kept original
Interior: Restored original & rare Recaro interior
What makes it so special: The perfect restoration with total OEM dedication. Level of finish. My favourite MK2

      Evolution of a legend
Big Ron's rolling chassis was bought by another Dutch dubber and underwent an amzing transformation to become a car as awesome as the original.
      Specs
      Engine: 3.2 V6 engine from a MK4 R32
Chassis: Custom air-ride setup, Chromed BBS RS
      Exterior: Repainted custom Beige
Interior: Audi TT convertible interior including, dash & brown leather 'baseball glove' seats. Chrome roll cage & custom door cards
What makes it special: Taking a legendary car and improving it with one of the first Audi TT dash coversions, R32 engine swap & air suspension intstalls.

      Russ Whitefield's 16v 'C4RBD
Cover star of Performance VW March 2010. Russ's MK2 is immaculate. Rebuilt over the last few years, it was already a show winner with a BMW Mini dash install, carbed 16v engine and perfect stance, most would be happy with it. Not Russ, he took the car off the road and completly re-built it to a mind blowing standard.
Engine: 2.0 16vwith twin weber carbs. Rocker cover smoothed, engine detailed inchrome & carbon fibre. One off carbon fibre driveshafts. Carbon fuel tank.
Chassis: 9.5/10 x 16 BBS RS, FK coilovers, fully polybushed. All suspension parts powdercoated
Exterior: Re-sprayed in VW Red Mica. all new glass, Audi A6 door handles. Smoothed bodywork
Interior: BMW Mini dash covered in brown leather/suede. Recaro G60 electric seats. Digital guages.
What makes it special? Detailing taken to another level. As clean underneath as it is on top. Lots of custom made carbon fibre parts (fuel tank, driveshafts, cambelt cover)

It's been posted somewhere. Looks quite good, but I'm not convinced. I had a Mini S, and would say that it's mediocre at best. The concept is amazing though. It's a lovely two-tone setup, with tan and a burgundy-ish to match the exterior.

Chassis: Extremely rare (1 of 3 sets) Compmotive wheels from a rally Metro 6R4. Refurbed & powder coated in the same silver as the engine components. Coilovers, fully poly bushed & Porsche brakes.
      Exterior: Original Schwartz Black paint
Interior: Recaro bucket seat & interior fully custom trimmed with OEM cloth.
What makes it special? Imacculate original paint, those wheels, killer Stance and well just look at the thing!!
