I think im going to be rebuilding the turbo (gt3076r) on the jetta as it seems an oil seal is bad. Still runs fine but ive been noticing a nice sized puddle after a few spirited runs. looks like its oozing from one of the IC couplers at first glance but who knows until i can get under the car and really check it out.

hoping to get settled in and meet some of you folks. any of you living in the ft mitchell area are free to give me the scoop.
What's up dude I'm in the fort Mitchell area in a development called misty forest, where r u moving?

looks like the touareg will be here Wednesday. the house still isnt ready yet though so i will continue to hang out in the ellenwood/ atl area.

does the hobby shop there have a paint booth for rental?

if so, who round these parts can handle a paint gun?

the hood on the Touareg is showing its age and id like to respray it. going to look into picking up some factory paint but i dont know the first thing about auto paint.

Got any pics ? I'm just getting into the paint correction world and it might be correctable... If it's just oxidiated and some scratches then I should be able to make it look new

yeah its mainly oxidation but its pretty horrible. all i have of it right now are these two. its supposed to be here tomorrow and i can take better pics of it then.

you can kinda see the dull area in the first pic.

  11. 06-26-2012 04:22 PM #816
Yea take more pics, from those pics it looks like it won't be a problem at all .. If you wanted me to do a full car paint correction and detail I would do it for 100$ for a fellow dubber... Touregs are big or I would charge less... I can show you some pics if your interested... Would take about 5-6 hours of work

looks good. when would you be available to do it? i want to learn how to do this stuff myself so i wouldnt mind helping. 100 is pretty darn reasonable to me.

i do a couple side jobs like aluminum polishing/ painting as well. we need to get together and help each other out.

  14. 06-27-2012 02:29 PM #819
I could possibly do it next weekend (the one after the 4th) just went to Texas on leave ..... Not sure if I'm coming back on Friday or not though, if not the following weekend should be good for sure... Its really simple and I'm cool with teaching you it's just time consuming and an expensive hobby/profession... But the results are awesome and it becomes addictive

I'm pretty big on polishing aluminum as well

great shots. i dont think im at that level just yet and i certainly dont have the equipment (lights, remote flashes, umbrellas) but id like to get around and get some practice in so i can get a little better. im ok at the post processing part but all of my past photos are either on another cpu or have been lost due to village photos taking a dump on me.

So if we wanted to start a euro group for this area what would we call it? If we can get a group name established and all that then we can make little flyers to put on people's cars to get more involved.

The other a pretty nice looking mk5 Gti,female driven. Haven't had a chance to speak to the drivers yet but if you see me stop me so we can meet.

man oh man, why do people have to try you when theres something wrong with the car. bad enough i have my turbo serviced because it has a faulty seal somewhere but today my stupid s177 fuse decided to fry so i had to limp home. while im trying my best to get back to the hotel without killing the battery some guy in a bmw 335i decides he wants to play speed racer. sigh.... if only he knew. then on top of that, right after that guy finally leaves me alone another guy in a challenger tries the same thing.

cars fixed now... heres hoping the same happens tomorrow on my short interstate trip.
