Thanks for the all excellent info as I've been in search of the same. And I looked in my manual as well and I couldn't find it either!

Anyway -- TREGinginCO what bulb upgrades are you planning to do? I have a 2010 JSW TDI with halogens and want to upgrade as well but am not well versed...

      Thanks in advance.

This thread is one of the best comparisons of different vendors that I've seen. The thread isn't well laid out, but there's a lot of good "real world" comparison in it.

Here is probably what I'm going to do for my normal lights until a good OEM hid kit is put together.

I'm intrigued by the PIAA lights as linked to in the previous post for main headlights.

I may do the chrome/mercury city bulbs that burn orange when lit up that you can get from TMTuning.

I may also look for some new fangled LED city light bulb as well.

I will be purchasing a Euro headlight switch --- depends on what Santa brings me!!

    6. 12-18-2009 01:23 AM #41
PIAA makes a super cool city LED light. No idea if it fits the mkvi and it's $$$$. I buy most of my leds from http://autolumination.com/ and they might have a cheaper option. I just did a complete red interior conversion with their 194 leds.

      Hi everyone,

I read the thread about the headlights on the 2010 GTI, but does anyone know if the halogens in the 2010 Golf Wagon TDI (Canada Version) or I imagine the 2010 Jetta Sportwagon (USA version), which are the same car, have the same replacement bulb numbers are the GTI thread. Coming from a 2007 GTI with xenons, I have my concerns about going back to straight halogens and would like to replace the bulbs with some autolumination super white bulbs or equivalent. The car arrives next week and I'd like to order them to change upon arrival.

      Thanks

H7 for the low baem and high beam. Use this:
      http://www.sylvania.com/Consum...Guide/
      Use 2009. Same car.

No, they aren't the same car. The 2010 wagons have the mkvi front end. If the halogens aren't the same, they look darn similar.

I've got a couple of these on the way to replace the low beams. I'll take a look at the high beams when I'm swapping them and confirm they are h15's.

For this car, for the low beam, the bulb is an H7, looks like the high beam is H15. They are not H13.

Anyone know the size of the foot well lamps on a 2010 GTI??

I don't mind having the footwell lights on while driving at night but the color difference between the yellow/white bulbs on the floor and the bright white led gauges bothers me Looking to replace the floor bulbs with some bright white LEDs

      Thanks for the help!

Has anyone installed aftermarket HIDs on the mk6?

If so, do anyone have pics?

and maybe some tips about how to install it

The footwell lights are wedge bulbs. I replaced them with these:

      http://www.superbrightleds.com...P.htm

Interestingly, it didn't set of a bulb warning. I don't know if the bulb warning is gone from the footwell lights, or if the LED's draw enough power to not trip it.

Anyone have any pictures of led footwell lights installed? (I really want to try and match the 'pure' White light of the dash)

they are an option when you buy the car. buying the oem ones climb upwards of $2000 to install after the fact.

Yes, but with what type of bulbs (bulb number and brand name).
I would like to do the same.

Actually, it sounds like he ended up just installing tinted bulbs, not the aftermarket HIDs.
