Hey guys, I have a faulty outside temperature sensor, says its always snowing when its 90 degrees outside!

I know its under the weather tray that covers the ECU, where exactly is this sensor found? Anyone have a DIY with photos?

you are talking about the sensor that tells the MFA what temp it is outside?
that is located on the front bumper. behind the driver side vent. (mine got ripped off long ago, and i have ---F for my temp ) (call the outside temp sensor)

the one up in the rain tray is for climatronic (called the ambient temp sensor)

you may be able to recalibrate the outside air with vag-com?

Correct, I am referring to the outside temperature sensor that displays on the MFA cluster.

Does the climatronic ambient temp sensor give a different reading than that of the MFA cluster? I thought they shared the same outside reading

i dont know much about climatronic, i dont have it, and personally i like the three knobs better.

but if they did the same thing, they wouldnt have put 2 on ya know?

and climatronic was an add on as was the mfa. so different components all together. from factory they only put on what they have to (obviously keeping costs down) so its just different systems.

Climatronic and the MFA have different sensors. The MFA is behind the drivers side bumper cover like said before, and the climatronic one is in the duct. They do the same exact thing but the are different system and the modules didn't do CAN yet (don't talk to eachother). They are usually the same but I get different readings often. One is near the asphalt and the other is up high.

My V-Flow Stage 2 DIY has a puc of the sensor and shows where I relocated it (onlu moved it a couple inches). No DIY is needed for its replacement. Take off the grill, pull the sensor off, unclip it from the wiring. Done.
