Let's face it, Jack probably went from six to midnight after Renee tortured that guy last season.

Forget Jack, that happened to me. Crazy chicks are crazy in bed, I bet Jack knows that.

Sure, but when she brings a circular saw to bed, time to exit the building...

I just wonder how Jack is fine after being beaten to a pulp by the cop only 45 minutes earlier.

Because he's Super Jack. It happens every season.

Cheap plot device to string out the analyst/agent/bubba love triangle? He was wearing his seat belt?

OK, I just watched the first two (four) episodes and I am a little foggy on my 24 history.

So at the end of season 7, Renee went crazy and assumingly tortured Williams or whatever his name was (confirmed this in this episode), but how long ago was that? I'm assuming this undercover Russian mob thing was well before Renee and Jack met last season?

How old is Jack's granddaughter? I would have placed her around 3 or 4 years old. I hate how the timeline is never clear with 24. Was the granddaughter already in the picture in Season 7? I just can't remember.

I do love that Jack turned Renee into a total torturing machine, considering how she was such a wuss before.

And I know I complain every season about how stupid 24 is and how it's always the same thing over and over again, but hell, it is entertaining. Not to mention Renee looks even hotter than she did last season, so I will continue to watch. Adding the other hot blonde was a good move as well, Fox. Keep Kim in a few more of the episodes and I'll be content for the rest of the season.

Jack's granddaughter did exist last season, but he didn't know about her. I think Kim was going to tell him when she came to the Senate hearings. Not sure how old the granddaughter was, 1 or less?

Day 7 was 20 months ago. The picture Kim showed her potential kidnappers in the airport was of a kid at least 1 year old. (I was surprised the same actor is playing her husband, as he's now the lead on "Vampire Diaries" on CWTV, but he's not getting a lot of screen time on 24 so I guess he can do both).

Renee was undercover with the Russian mob 6 years ago; their cover is that she's been in prison all this time (which actually might have done Walker some good).

Perfect. I probably should have watched season 7 again before season 8, but I couldn't put myself through that torture again.

With this as season 8 and the time that elapsed between seasons, anyone have an idea how old Jack is now?

While I enjoy it, and will watch it, it seems that it's the same old story. Only the names/places have changed. I only started watching it last year. Was nice to watch all the early seasons back to back. Sucks having to wait every week for the new episode.

Unfortunately, I think the 'real time' format precludes there ever being a 24 movie.

That said, there's always a twist about halfway through, I'm hoping this season's twist will make us go WTFWTFWTFWTF.

Exactly! He is an idiot too! Can't seem to have any imagination that something else may happen or that people can be setup to take the fall.

Blondie and BillyBob are really starting to piss me off! How will she explain to FPJ the random dude in their apartment?

I really liked how Walker had no hesitation getting back into the swing of things!

That is the only thing I think about anymore w/ 24. I watch the show, even though it has run its course, because I can just watch for the action and not get wrapped up in the plot holes but I always find myself saying "Hmmm, I wonder what the 1/2 season bad guy change is gonna be"

It wasn't shot in Washington DC last year either.

Parts were. Local blogs were reporting on their filming and Baur sites.

The fact that this isn't actually being shot in NYC is kind of lame.

I agree. There's really nothing New York about this show at all. The only shots of NYC is clearly stock video footage and a poorly done green screen background when Renee Walker arrived in helicopter. I like how they cut to Chloe's face to show her struggling with the wind blowing in her hair for the sole purpose of trying to convince us it was a real setting. I got a kick out of that.

This kills me, especially him calling from her apartment. "Hello, 911? Yes, one of my neighbors just called me at work, they say they saw a strange man enter my apartment." The police arrive to find a convicted felon on the premises, insisting his trailer-park ex "Jenny" lives there; she shows up in her Donna Karan with government ID and says she doesn't know what the hell he's on about. The next time she has to deal with him, Jack's granddaughter will be running CTU.

I agree. Last year, they screwed up showing that Bill died in a preview After that preview, I quit watching them.

I'm so glad that Tony isn't part of this season at ALL. Given the storyline, he wouldn't fit in anyways.

Coolchick was taking a nap on the couch last Sunday afternoon before the season started. The bank robbery Direct TV commercial came on, and the ccharacter yelled, "Everybody on the floor!" I see her lift the blanket to see the TV, thinking it was a comercial for "24."

Ummm.... there's ALWAYS a reason to stick Almeida back in. how much you wanna bet Almeida worked with the russians at some point, and now they need him to reinfiltrate them.

haha, actually I think the sad part is that if it did happen, I don't think any of us would be that suprised. It's the old "who can we dig out of the grave to insert into the storyline" trick.

It pains me to say this but this series is nose diving quickly. I always considered 24 my favorite show for years but after these last couple of episodes everything seems very poorly written, poorly shot, poorly acted, and all the subplots seem overly contrived. What the hell happened??
