Here are some parts to show how close and serious we are about bringing the 1-4 dog set w/ billet input shaft including pilot bearing snout.

All gear sets are designed ONLY for FZQ trans code and stock ring and pinion.

**R32 3/4/6 gear set is in the works but deff not our top priority as these gear sets were designed and made to help FFE shop and customer cars go fast, Ed was nice enough to allow anyone to purchase these because he understands not everyone is local and can't be an in house customer.**

Stock input shaft to the left, 3 FFE input shafts to the right

some gears (not everything in this pic is for FZQ)

Pricing at this moment is looking a little north of 5k, it could change depending on final price once these reach FFE. Pricing will be set by the manufacturer NOT FFE so please no one complaining about price, Ed is just trying to offer what he paid out of pocket to have built for his own drag cars.

    Hope you all enjoy

    i believe that's 20th AE

    4 cyl US trannies are

Err - 337 FML - 20th ae -closed case end with conical roller bearing not compatible without new case and bearings

Fzq- gli - open case end roller bearing with circlip lock and open case end with dust cap

All 04+ cars and current share this case and bellhousing design. As does r32

Fml and fzq share same ring and pinion ratio err is different.

Yeah Ed, looks real good, but from experience with new parts that looks real good you need to put it to the test asap then you will see the potential, that is the bad part of being first to desigh new stuff. Good luck with it and that is good for VW 02m owners

Marc you know we will put them to the test. The manufacturer makes gear sets for other fwd brand cars that hold over 1000whp with no failure, knowing that he let us know the 02m gears are way beefier than anything fwd he had done before. We will be confident their will be no issues but that doesn't change the fact that we are gonna put them in the most extreme conditions.

Marc you want to join us with an 02m next season? I know you are tired of tearing 3rd gear apart when you hit full boost.

I talked with these guys at the Texas Mile in October, they said they were working with FFE and a stronger gear set. Hope it solves all the problems you guys are having with stock gear sets...

PAR as made 1000whp application also just never in a VW so newer stuff for them, the design will hold no problem just 3rd gear design needs to be re worked wich im getting in 2 weeks. Fitment is crucial, im sure our stuff will hold 1000hp same as your stuff once dialed in im sure we will have the FWD tranny covered by 2011.

I said it in the R32 thread, I'll say it in this. This time next year, I'll be 100% down for a set of these. Hands down, no thinking about it at all.

do you guys have any specs on the size of the teeth on the gears and shafts?
SQS uses 3.25 modulus for there 4speed drag kit. this way i know more or less what im looking at.
who did you guys get to make this gear set?
when do you guys think your gonna get some testing done?

Only other car right Now will be mine which is not complete yet. My car has the exact same setup as eds and will make the same power. All testing will be done on our 2 cars. The kit was built by someone who is already building kits for other brand fwd cars making over 1100hp in 4cyl cars.

JD and marc, this company makes k series dog box transmissions, also srt 4 parts for manual, including billet input shafts, and the planetary gears for the automatics. The manufacturer also has produced transmissions and gear solutions for many vehicles ranging from drag cars to baja trucks.

Kevin Van Nattens - srt 4 automatic uses his gears, runs consistant 8.90s and since using these parts does not break transmissions.

The k series boxes are used commonly and are warrantied since the box was fully redisigned and 4 gears now are in place of where 6 used to be.

    Now onto the info.

The gears for the 1-4 dog boxes were built around a r&p of an fml/fzq and later 4 cyl boxes.

They were designed for 26x10 tires and setup to have almost idential gearing to the PPG b series dog boxes at 500 less rpm.

So in each gear you will hit the same mph at 10k vs 10.5k on the b series.

The gears are at heat treat and I am promised to have the parts by the end of this month.

Once they are here I will post pictures, available ratios and side to side comparison pictures.

Thank you for your interest, feel free to contact me, no reason to get all upset over nothing.

When I posted on here for some reason I knew that people were gonna take this the wrong way. I'm just doing some research because I too need a tranny or gear set if I want to race next year. So before I go and spend 5k on a gear kit I would like to get some specs on the product other than Beefier! Does it make sense?

But I do have to admit that the fact that you are being hush hush about who the manufacture is kinda amazes me because when I started using SQS in the drag racing industry I shared that with everyone so that it allows the VW racing scene to grow. With that said put yourself my shoes and tell me what you think.

They are not Liberty, I think Liberty *might* have been one of the companies ed talked to and they didn't show much interest.

for your sake, I hope DCR has zero involvement with these gears. He's a flake, and a scammer.

sorry for the Liberty assumption....I have been in contact with a few company's about doing a true 5 speed dog box and i ran into the company that is making this gear set. But i am in no place to say anything other than, anyone that feels unsure about the product, it is made by a great company with GREAT customer service
