Thread: A1 Rabbit Hood Clearance??? - ABA 16v

  1. 08-14-2002 01:29 PM #1
Has anybody done one in a Rabbit? If so, how is the hood clearance? Not worried about the rain tray- its gone...alternator will be there with 16vG60 conversion. Just worrying about the height issue! Any comments will help! Thanks.

I've seen it under the hood of a Cabby, didn't look to be any fitment issues.
    Insert drivel here.....

I can't see having any problems with that motor configuration under the hood of a Rabbit.
Tradition is the art of making the same mistake repeatedly, on purpose.

a stock 9A 16v clears the hood of a rabbit my a MILE, so another 16mm (.63") more height is not going to end the world..

I did an ABA/F on Webers in my Caddy. The factory MK4/Beetle oil cap with breather fitting will not allow the hood to close. Obviously I don't have a factory intake manifold to worry about.
