Did 11000 ft of climbing over the last 3 days.
Day one was the UCLA Road Race that had 6000 ft of climbing. Was windy, hard, at altitude and FUN!! I really dug it. Hit 56.6 mph on the downhill... road away from the group to chase the break and ended up in no mans land for 30 miles and stayed to the end.
Day two was the Sunday group ride up Nichols in L.A. I think I was pinned the whole damn ride. attacking, chasing...attacking...working in a 2 man group to the end. Then got 2nd in pack sprint.
Today, did a nice spin up Altadena in the dirt and set fastest time down single track one (sunset) and single track two (el prieto) on Stava.
Fuggin beat now.

Headed out to Virginia horse/wine country for my regular weekend ride, and did 52 miles along with 2,900 feet of total gain.
Legs didn't feel great today so spent much of my time watching others disappear up hill, but still had a good time. Right quad was on the verge of cramping the last 10 miles or so -- at one point I got out of the saddle for a steep grade and it immediately clenched. Spun up seated as best I could from there on in....

34 miles, just under 2 hours. Along the breezy coast to Pebble Beach...sore taint.

60~mi in 3:15ish. I've been having all sorts of fit problems these days. Pretty annoying... 6 days until the 2nd bike comes in though!

Raced a short 22km early season crit today with teammate BenjaminObscene. Joint Cat 1/2/3/4 field which is weird, but it's a training series so is less formal. Maybe 60 riders at a guess? 48'F, 8.8'C.
Averaged 25.3mph, finished about 10th in the final sprint. Team mate who I was looking to for a leadout broke a spoke after making contact on the penultimate lap so I found my own way to the finish. Pretty happy with the end considering I'm not fast and the higher caliber of riders.

Had very little time available this weekend, so did just an easy hour-long spin yesterday and today trying to keep my speed and effort down. Wasn't as easy a ride as I would have liked today -- there were almost whitecaps on the nearby lake this afternoon....

Back to my usual work commute after a week of absence due to heavy rains. Amazing what not riding for 7 days do to you.... not in a good way.![]()

42.26 mi

876 ft elevation gain
58.4 °F avg temp.
Strange that Garmin and Strava have different max speeds and average speeds, but the same time. I guess it's rounding the numbers differently.

Got out for 42 miles today. Weather was nice, in the low 50's but windy so I didn't know what to wear. Regardless, I felt like DEATHActually, I feel like death's version of death. I can't believe how much I lost over winter. Oh well, time to get back to where I was

Are all your back east rides 42 miles? all three or so of you in a row.
Finally broke my last years time up Latigo. Had a 44 min climb time and now, this year holding a 165-170 hr but adding 2 10min 180hp intervals had me crush it at 40:50! Was quite siked about it. but now, 3 days later i'm enjoying my sore throat my kids gave me and trying to lick it before San Dimas Stage race starts in 5 days.

60km yesterday, climbed 727m, including a 21.5% hill which almost killed me.

About 48 miles today out in the rolling hills of Virginia west of the District.
Climbed one of the easier hard climbs around here (if that makes any sense) past the Naked Mountain vineyard. Spun up without too much trouble enjoying my new 12-27 cassette until I hit the final pitch which was about 18 percent (at least that's what the ride leader's Garmin was telling her). That part sucked! First steep hill of the season -- I have a lot of work to do.

1st ride of the year, only 40km

It's finally outdoor riding season for me here in Northern Ohio. I did my first outdoor ride on Sunday, just 12 miles, and my first bike commute of the season this morning. It feels good to be outside again, I don't think I could've done the rollers anymore!

Short ride yesterday, my third ride overall. 16.5 miles. Turns out the park near my house is HUGE. Great hills, the roads are very cyclist-friendly because the park is so crowded all the time.
Almost light enough in the morning to start commuting to work![]()
