I generally do 1 minute, 5 minute, and 20 minute critical power tests on the same day roughly ~6 weeks. Take your CP20 value and multiply it by 0.95 and you have your Functional Threshold Power.
20 or so minute warm up hitting each zone briefly to get the blood flowing to the legs. I generally allow 5 minutes between each of the tests. then finish my ride plus a 20 minute cooldown.
