Went out for a ride this evening. About an hour and a half on the trail. I almost had a heart attack when my friend thought he heard something scampering across the trail behind him and let out the loudest, most horrific scream I've ever heard. I thought some maniac was about to run out from behind the trees and stab someone.

That happened to my brother and I one night on the trail. Heard a bunch of crashing around in the woods, a deep bellow scream and then smelled something that had the odor of stank, wet dog. I figured it was Bigfoot and just put the hammer down!

Dude, if you wear the tights under, what use is the chamois?

Hey now, at least I will know what I sound like when I am brutally murdered... all over a big boulder I displaced as I made my way up the hill.

Good call. It's a tough predicament since my new saddle is still a little abrasive and the shorts are much heavier duty in that zone. Luckily it was still too cold to get a serious crotch funk going.

I'd just never seen another pair. I got mine straight from the team. Didn't know they were out there for general consumption.
I love mine! I rode in the snow on Saturday and the bike gave up before I was cold!

I rode to the gas station to get gas for my lawn mower because I was too lazy to shuffle cars around to get the truck out and didn't want to haul gas in my Rabbit. Somehow ridding my bike seemed like less work than shuffling cars... At the very least it was more fun.

2 hour recover ride on the trainer yesterday. BORING. But looks like the paths on the Danube are finally clearing up a bit, finally get to spend some time outside tonight.

Our paths are still under ~8 inches of snow. Take some pics

I went on a short little cruise and worked my way up to bunny hopping a set of two stairs. I used to be able to do 4, but I stopped ridding for a while so I'm just kinda working my way back up. Felt real good the first time I landed it clean.

Yesterday was an easy commute to/from work, 1:48. Today I got in a nice 5-hour ride with a little bit of interval work. I have the next 2 days as lighter days and a century on Sunday.

Got a decent 22 miles in just over an hour and ten minutes with about 10ish stoplights. Weather in VA beach was 44 this afternoon.

Doing a small group ride with some people in the tri club tomorrow afternoon.

I also registered for my first time trial!!! Woot! It's a 40km completely flat out and back course and if it's the course they use for the half marathon it's literally a straight out and back course there is no elevation changes or turns (one U turn to come back)! : )

My goal time is 55 minutes. I dunno how realistic that is, I will be riding a Cervelo P3C and I have an Giro Advantage 2 Aero helmet. I don't have a nice wheelset yet, although if I can somehow finagle renting some wheels for the day or something, i'm going to try.

I think I will be able to meet my goal since I am also training for a marathon so the training volume is high enough to have a pretty decent engine by the time the event comes around.

My volume currently is commuting to work 12 miles (round trip), Bike/Run workouts Bike workout is around 20 miles most days (weekend minimum of 40) running I am currently at 6 miles and will be at 12 by the end of next week.

I have a trainer and everything so I heard to warm-up quite thoroughly on it, so when I start I can lay the hammer down right away. I also would like to have my max mileage around 70-80 miles, I really would like to place in the top 3 for Cat 5 since it's a small race. I can hit 35mph very briefly right now on flat roads for about 3 minutes LOL horrible right! My Bike is geared 53 with a 12-25 cassette. I would like to get a larger chainring (55) perhaps since I have a really decent strength base to push a big gear and I have a little bit of trouble keeping the cadence really high.

Did your area of PA get blasted by that snowstorm? My homegirl was here last weekend from PA and she was saying it's the most snow they ever had up their.

What I am not looking forward to is moving back to MN and all the DRAINER time I will have to start investing, thankfully I bought a pretty decent one so it should be able to hold up for the time I go to college.

2 hours on the trainer yesterday, also did an hour at physical therapy for my knee -- insanely tight IT bands. They ultrasounded my knee, WOW within 2 hours a significant portion of the pain went away.

My commute is only 24 miles round trip. On my long days, like yesterday, I'll do my ride in the morning and end at work then do a light ride home after to add a little time here and there to my week.

The century is just a loop I do, nothing sanctioned. This weekend I'll be heading down to the Jerzee Shore. I did this ride a few weeks ago and it was 103 miles. I try to get something century'ish every other week.

What team? Can I get me some vegan cheesecake?

Yup, there's still a foot of snow on my garden, with 2ft+ snow banks on the side of every road. The cycling paths that I normally take on the way to work are covered, and one has a tree fallen over it.

I bought my spin bike at the perfect time!

Rode about 15 miles yesterday outside for the first time this season. Felt great. The trainer is really paying off!! But i did go flat twice and then had to be picked up. The ride started out nice and warm but as the sun set, i got really cold!! Need another layer and some knickers.

First outdoor ride this year. Been a long wait. I was supposed to do this ride yesterday but had to work late. pschmerg asked if I could snap some pics, so I did. 1.5 hour ride, 25km, and 425m of climbing, all done mainly in zone 3 as I'm not ready to start pushing it.

380m of that climbing happens over less than 5km. It basically looks like this all the way up:

On the way up I pass vineyards with great views of the Danube and Vienna. Not so much today due to the fog:

"Everywhere I go, something reminds me of Victoria." Intarnetz points for anyone that knows the reference. The goal is the nipple on the left (Kahlenberg). I'm about 1/3 the way up now.

Climb finished! Time for some singletrack. Trails were freaking burly today. Lots of rain slicks and melt holes. Still fun though. Better than the f**king trainer any day.
