Just wanted to start a thread for us 2010 wagon owners. There is already a thread for MKV wagons so I wanted to start one just for us. Post up any mods you have done to your wagon and pics too if you have them. Would also like to hear where you are buying your parts from.

not really a mod but I put the wireless inductive charger for my cell phone into mine. That's all so far!

    Welcome,

I had the dealership install Chrome Mirror Caps (VW part), windows tinted (35% front, 20% rear), Philips X-Treme HIR headlamp upgrade (eBay), Chrome exhaust tips (VW part) and Monster Mat kit.

To come: 17 inch wheels and tires upgrade this Spring, Chrome pedals...

Hi, I just got my TDI Sportswagen a few days ago. Where did you get the phone charger? I've not seen one like that yet. Did you get the fog lights dealer installed or did it come with them already installed?

Cars a little too new yet but I've been thinking of exhaust and a chip. Here's what I've found for an exhaust system....

Chipping I'm not sure who to go to yet. I've only seen Upsolute.

I know I'd love to have fogs, anyone know if there is a kit yet for MKVI JSW? No mods on mine currently, we've had it 3 weeks so far.

Which aspheical mirrors did you end up getting - are they both aspherical or just the driver side?

Are you running on stock shocks? How is the ride? Also did you notice a big improvement over the stock headlight bulbs with the new H7's? I really hate the light output of the stock headlamps - compared to my A4 they look like such a joke.

I have always liked the silvervision bulbs. I have had them in all of my cars and can only recommend them, it's usually my first mod. I actually remembered that before I sold my MKV I threw my mirror glass in a box somehwere and found them again but I think they were from ECS.

I'm hoping the votex front valence for the Golf will fit properly (why shouldn't it?) because to my eye it's much cleaner than the one offered for the JSW.

Just got a trunk liner for the wagon - didn't opt for the Gorilla Gear carpet mat cuz I wanted something that would be waterproof and easier to wipe down or hose off if needed (not to mention the dealer price was disgusting). At first I wasn't sure if I liked it because it didn't fit quited as snug as an OEM mat but with a little tweaking it started to grow on me. I like how the mat extends to the back seats to protect them and is foldable in case you still want use the ski pass through - although when folded the liner doesn't look as flush/smooth. For about half the dealer cost of the Gorilla Gear mat I can't really complain and am fairly happy with this trunk liner. Hope to buy some ashperical mirrors soon and update the cruddy OEM headlight bulbs. BTW bought this on ebay if anyone is interested...

Seat protector portion of mat folded underneath.

Mat fully opened protecting the back seats.

Had some Chrome Exhaust tips put on, for free! Because I had the CEL/O2 sensor issue with only 130 miles on the car, the dealer wanted to make it right. So while the car was on the lift, they put them on! I was planning on getting them anyway, so this worked out good!

Update on that, they are different with different part numbers:

    P/N 5K0071609 GRU (Golf) http://www.volkswagen-zubehoer....html

    P/N 1K9071609A GRU (JSW) http://www.volkswagen-zubehoer....html

This one has more "jowls" on the sides and a pushed-back bottom edge to the center air intake.

Here is the DIY instruction document. I'm not super good at electronic upgrades and this only took me about 35 minutes. You'll also need to get someone to help you that has the VAGCOM to activate the new 9W3 module and the voice recognition using the steering wheel button. All instructions are in this document.

    http://www.aenea.org/jsw/jsw9w3upgrade.pdf

    The parts are:

Here are the part numbers and prices:

    Module 1Z0-035-729-C $424.35
    Antenna 8P0-035-503-E $16.73

Here is the contact info for the person I bought the parts from at a nice 30% discount over MSRP. Paul is the parts manager for Keffer VW and is great to deal with :

    Keffer Volkwagen
    Paul @ 704-766-2121

You'll love how this transforms your BT, especially if you have the Nav.

eBay - at an online store called Get It Covered. I think they have free shipping throughout North America.

  22. 01-23-2010 08:40 AM #22
EDIT: Ignore this - found it in the Canada-only eBay. Thanks!

The forum won't let me post the link, so edit & paste this:

    -------

Thanks, but no luck finding that store on eBay or finding anything on eBay but Gorilla cargo mat systems for sale (which I already have). I'm looking for that rubber liner in your picture.

    Do you have a link?

    Thanks again,

Look in the MkV forum, there is a thread for JSW's. A lot of nice lowered and modified pics of the 2009 Jetta wagons and some 2010's too. I'm pretty sure that the MkV suspension will fit a 2010 "MkVI" wagon as suspension-wise I think they are identical.

Which H&R springs did you end up getting (part#) and how much is it rated to drop (inches). How much did the springs cost you. I assume you are running on the stock shocks and using 225/40/18 tires. Any rubbing?

I'm not sure if the question is posed to me but I'll respond...

I'm running H&R Sports that I purchased from TireRack for approximately $220. H&R part number 54751 -- same as 2009 part number. I called H&R and they told me to order the 2009 part number as they had tested them on the 2010. The Sports drop you 1.5" front and rear.

I would suggest also ordering the VW Lowering Spring Kit hardware (http://www.cmgestore.com/vw08/SKUDet...VW269007.Asp). It has suspension limiters as well as other hardware that VW recommends be swapped when installing lowering springs. I did purchase and had installed with the springs...

I haven't rubbed once (some folks have after installing H&Rs -- research) under any circumstances and I do a lot of around town driving on some terrible roads. I'm not saying that the suspension limiters are the exact answer but I can tell that (1) I have them installed and (2) no rubbing whatsoever. Take it for what it's worth...

I really want those Chrome Exhaust tips, called VW dealer but they are not available yet in canada???. Anyone from Canada, were did you buy from?. I know there a guy in US who sell 15% over employee price but shipping and custom would be expensive. Is it easy to install?

If you're talking about the mat that I bought you have to go to ebay Canada. Try this link:

So can anyone comment on the potential interchangeability of the MkVI GTI grille insert and front bumper cover?

I think this would look really nice on the front of a Mk VI JSW.

Not too sure about the bumper cover but the grill looks good... look halfway down through this thread.

Here's what the '10 GTI Grill looks like on my JSW( sorry substandard iphone images-same images from the tdiclub forum link). I'm checking to see if the grill will fit as well, or other options. Fogs or LED running lights in the side grills to come.

I've got skirts and front spoiler being painted right now, as well as a set of H&R sports waiting for the weekend. Clear bra in the future also.
I'll post some better pics once I get all the upgrades.
