no one touches my wheels unless I know I can trust them and they know how important it is. It's as simple as that.

Also.. why did you have such a hard time finding someone to patch your tire? I can get almost anyone to patch or plug (most prefer plug.. just because it's easier) here

I had issues because the hole was somewhat close to the sidewall..
if it had been in a different place, probably wouldnt have been an issue.

So I will leave this shop unnamed as they are actively engaged in fixing this problem.....

Last week I got a nail in my tire. About an inch from the side wall
Extremely low leak. My tpms would alarm every other day so I guess I was losing a lb a day or so
Anyhow, no one wants to patch or plug a tire anymore due to liability reasons...
I was not about to replace a tire that had less than 10k on it so I found someone

After it was repaired, they let a brand new person mount the tire back on the rim ( the new DID NOT do the tire repair)

This person wrecked the f*ck out of my rim. Scrapes like curbing all around the outer rim
Deep scrapes inside each lug from using a nut that was too big
Also some deep scratches inside a spoke. How the F?!?!?
When he took the weights off, he used a screwdriver to pry them off and gouged the crap out of that area. Not to mention left all the adhesive everywhere
Also minute scratches all around

I was beyond furious

The shop manager apologized profusely and offered to buy a new wheel
However, the manufacturer has a four month back order
So I agreed that I would find an alloy repair guy and have it fixed and re powder coated
They will foot the bill and if the repair isn't perfect, they will buy a new wheel

So here I am, rolling retarded on one stock Porto on snows

I took a couple photos but it's midnight with a camera phone. Hard to capture all the wreckage

haha... rubbing is definitely going to be an issue for you. I started to tear into my fenders up front after I added the 10mm spacers (to clear my brakes). You'll be adding a similar amount when going to those wheels.

You're already pretty stretched now as well, right?

Yes they are, 8.5" et30 rear et 37 front... my fenders already are f'ed and rear quarter panels lack paint, So now I really don't care Only people who really know what there looking at can tell.

Tim, wheels are boss. Can't wait to see them mounted. But, yeah you're probably gonna rub pretty good.

Exact same thing happened to me at a local Firestone Complete Car Care a couple of months ago. Brought them a brand new (0 mile) OZ Ultraleggera that had a leak from them improperly installing the alloy valve stem. In the process of fixing that issue they scratched and gouged every surface of the wheel. Because it's my race setup I didn't make them replace or repair the wheel, but I had the store bring the tech up front so I could ream him out.

I worked installing tires for two years, it's really not that hard to do well.

Ride height in 19's....


I love my wheels. But whenever I see pics of my car, it still seems so high
I'm on 19's with 35 tires
How much would it drop my actual ride height to go to 18's on 35s?
1 inch? Does it make that big of a difference?

Approximately a half inch lower overall ground clearance. But your car might actually look higher because you'll be increasing the fender to tire gap by a half inch as well.

Reasons like this are exactly why I bought my own Tire mounter and Balancer. well that and my other car kills tires like thats its job, well that's what its job is but you know.

Thanks, I haven't lowered it, because my part of the city is full of roadwork till december so tons of potholes, huge gaps and bumps everywhere....needless too say 2 of my original wheels my Portos and con tis have big side bulges due to falling into a hole.... so Ill be driving a stock suspension for the rest of the year...:bang head:

BTW the whispers barely clear the pano roof (like 1 millimeter )

I really dig that interior. Where did you get the wood kit? I have the OEM one (haven't installed it yet) but it doesn't have the radio surrounds.

I am on 225 45 18 when they should have been 225 40 18, my original ports have 2 contis with 2 huge bumps on the sidewall, also my OZ on the RSi one Goodyear Eagle F1 has one sidebump, and after buying 2 wheels for my wife´s car I went to the safe side. Yep they look beefy but I am happy I don't have to inflate them like the Hindemburg. Also I changed the initial Screen on the RNS 510 with a personalized photo.

Installed 10mm spacers all around last weekend.



My only concern is that the spacer diameter is smaller than the wheel hub and rim hub. Should I be concerned??

Some of H&R's spacers are like that and some are not. Not going to affect anything though.
