Rears: i just got a trim tool under them and pulled. There are 2 clips. I broke 1 on one side. The other came out clean

For the front i do not have a bulb in there. No bulb out warning lights for me and no light bleed through the paint that way

    Fresh alignment.

Looks great! What suspension? Are those the clear reflectors from ECS?

ok.. good to know, because that changes how much light is let into the car and how dark or light the tint looks when it's sunny out.

    Thanks

Did you ever get the noise issue resolved on the ST's? I remember a thread awhile back about them. The price is right and they seem like great coils, I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a set.

Yes I had the noise. I had them replaced under warranty and no issues since.

I'm going with ST's as well. Good coils for the money.

x3. Dealt with terrible noise on an A3 and a Mini Cooper both with pano. Never again.

Now, if they had a single-panel sunroof like the Jetta, I would've pulled that trigger.

Same don't have a roof i my A3 since I didn't like the open sky and don't have it on the JSW since I didn't like the pano. Both would have sunroofs if they were just a single glass panel over the front seats like my mk4 has. We were out in the OBXT a few weeks back which has a pano style roof and I was driving, had to close the shade since you could barely drive with all the light coming in causing glare and burning my head... yet I'll drive the jeep with no top just fine

So far, it feels they way it should have come from VW. The ride is definitely tighter, but not harsh. The body roll has significantly decreased and you can definitely feel pavement imperfections more than before, but it still feels compliant. It seems to hold up in s-curve transitions and there is no "bounciness" like I have seen/felt in other cars that are overly stiff. I have the Konis set to 1/3 of maximum fimness front and back. I might dial up the front just a little bit, but I'm going to wait and see how I feel.

I honestly went back and forth over coils vs. springs and dampeners, but I am really a "set it and forget it" kinda guy, so I am really happy so far. I really like the feel and the look is just icing on the cake. It looks sporty but is still reasonable for carting the baby around or hauling things up to Maine for vacation.

I'll be interested in seeing how it fares with a full load in the trunk. I have not performed the fender screw mod, but I'm willing to make that happen if need be.

I was wondering how this would all work out with the 18x8.5s, but so far, I am loving life.

I would go ahead and remove the screw. It takes 30 seconds and is insurance. I am a set it and forget guy too. I have run coil overs for years now, but I am wanting to go back to shocks/ springs. My issue is the setup I want is $900... yikes! I'd rather just get coil-overs. So I will see what I want to do soon. I might just go with Koni coil-overs again.

Not a bad idea. What set up are you looking at costs $900?

You and I have similar stables, my wife having the 2012 Golf 2.5, so long as you sub your E30 for my Mk1 Scirocco. But they're both from the same era.

A properly matched spring and shock will generally ride and perform overall better then a cheap not thought out coilover setup of similar price. I'd take a 900 buck spring/shock combo over a similarly priced coilover in most cases. Assuming we are talking about springs and shocks coming as a kit from a single manufacture not just 500 bucks for shocks and 400 bucks for springs that just so happen to fit, in that case coilovers since its probably going to suck might as well slam it

I agree! I hope I do not get bored of the spring's ride height, especially since most of my cars have been pretty low in the past.

Disagree. ST's are V1's at $700. I'll take them all day long every single time over a non height adjustable kit. Call me crazy.

Looks great! Where in the Balto County area are you, just noticed that in your profile, I've not seen a lot of JSW's around here with any work done. My office is in Balto County, my father lives way up in Monkton area.

Hoping mine show up soon. I got the chrome+LEDs.

I haven't seen the shipping update since they hit Canada on the 31st.

Oh snap, just tried my tracking number from EMS with the Canada Post website. Lights were in Halifax yesterday
