I think I have CBADD (Car Building Attention Deficit Disorder) because I can't get this thing built. I go through spurts. Progress has been slow with the back and my wife's pregnancy (and now baby), but it will get done, I swear. I have been making a bit of progress on it lately. I have most all the parts that I need, just need to get the bay sprayed and I can plop the motor in.

I painted some stuff over the last couple days and built this battery tray from my spare tire holder, my welding is **** but it works! Don't mind the iPhone pics.

      In for the subscribe.

I know how you feel about having spurts with working on the car. My rabbit has been off the road for about 3 months now and I feel like I haven't gotten anywhere. Warm weather seems to be my motivation lately

I suppose everyone has waited long enough, I posted some color pics on facebook anyway so...
      Without further ado:

It looks a bit Lime Green in this picture but I blame the lighting. When you see it in person, it starts to pastel out. The color is lindgrün from a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster. I am completely in love with it!

I love it. Green is one of my favorite colors! You planning to stick with black components as a contrast?

Yes, black with polished bits. You can see the motor in the preceding pages.

Things NEVER go as planned, especially dealing with mk1's. I assembled and timed the motor about 8 months ago and it rotated freely.

Today I had a friend come over to help me hang it in the bay and asked him to just double check my timing. Well we start going through everything and then try to spin it and it won't budge, well it budged a little, but thats it. WTF?

We dropped the pan, no rust. I just pulled the head and there is no bad indicators on the cylinder walls.

      I have no idea.

I think it was but it was a long time ago. Either way it is attached now. But it's in neutral so what would that matter?
