How do you like that band? I have been tossing around the idea of getting that same watch but I'm not sure if I will go with a Zulu band or the Mil-Nato. How does that band attach? Does it just slip over the spring bars and under the body or does it wrap around the spring bars so the watch doesn't slide around? I am kinda new to the watch thing. This would be the first watch I've spent over $50 on.

It slips under the spring bars and then under the body, but it's two layered. The one layer slips up over the bars, but the second layer stays flat. The buckle rings hold it pretty well in place. It doesn't slide around at all. This is one of the reasons I picked the Nato over the Zulu, which is only one layer.
Here's a pic from a different angle:

I finally got some time and tried my hand at strap making and made a few leather straps for my Lumtec. Just trying to figure out which thread color I like the best.

Finally got in my Maratac Mid Pilot. I ended up going with the Maratac OD Green Mil-NATO strap.
I would like to find a strap like this for it:
but the only straps I can find like that are $150 which is almost as much as the watch
Thanks again Silver SLC!

Congrats, and it was no problem at all - I love talking about this kind of junk. Like I said, I think they're great watches, and a real bargain for the features that you're getting, as long as you're not hung up on having a Swiss movement.
When I was looking for mine, I had originally had my heart set on a Steinhart, but they didn't have some features (like being waterproof) that I really wanted in this watch, and for the money, this one is a much better deal.

I ordered a leather Nato from this site and the quality was very good for the price. Not sure if they have the DLC rings and buckle.

It's a GUESS watch with a different band on it. Another cheap/simple watch that functions well.

Bought my first Russian watch, Vostok Amphibia w/ ministry case. Been eying it for a while, wanting to get another orange dial watch so tried something a little different. Included a comparison pic next to my Seiko 6309-7040.

Thanks you, it's my favorite watch. I bought it from a German guy on Timezone who used to go to the Sinn factory, buy the watches then ship them to the US about 10 years ago before Watchbuys was even a Sinn dealer. At that time, it was the only way to get them. I think I wired him $1900 and wondered if it was the stupidest thing I'd ever done until I got the watch in the mail 3 weeks later.

Finally got mine back from servicing...
Had them replace the band for a leather one while at it, the clasp system is pretty neat...
