The center strand of links are SS while the outer two bands have the rubber coating...I really like the contrast, personally

Wow, that's a choice pic of that Skyland...I was eyeballing one of those today at the mall. If I didn't already have a super avenger I'd be looking at one of those for sure.

This watch isn't anything special per se, but my wife bought it for me on my birthday while we were on vacation in Florence, Italy two years ago...it is particularly memorable since the jewerly shop we got it at was on the Ponte Vecchio bridge I've never heard of the Police brand of watches before but it looked cool and fit the budget...

I LOVE their watches, but I have a hard time paying that much for a quartz watch with no complications to justify the price.

I always plug in USBs right the first time.

I think I paid less than 50 for it. Not too worried about the hang tag.

I just got it, and LOVE it. I know its a bit busy for most people, but thats why I like it. Watching the hands update to the time zones is dead sexy.

    Nice Invicta! Very interesting!!

Today, I am wearing one of my 2 restored Seiko 6105-811x watches. No pics of this one handy, but this one was restored by Ken Setser. A movement service, relume, sapphire domed crystal, and case refinish, moounted on a MarineMaster strap. It's just a joy to wear such an awesome watch, and makes my day that much better to see it all day long.

Here is a pic of it's twin, which is also a 6105-8110, but was given the same treatment by Jack Alexyon at IWW, but with an AR coated crystal and no case work. That one is now mounted on a Seiko SuperOyster, and is one of my prized watches.

It's the Seiko5 today. I had to go with a small watch today as this shirt has really small cuffs.

Nothing too fancy, but this watch is very nice on the wrist. Super durable with a titanium carbinide coating as well, this watch looks brand new even though it's almost a year old.

Thanks! I just got it yesterday. It's the new Lupah in a special combat edition. It's the biggest watch I own but it's actually really comfortable to wear.

How is the quality on Invictas?
I see some of em are made in Swiss but does that make a difference?

  32. 02-26-2010 09:33 PM #102
the invicta is a varation of similiar face design swatch put out in the 90's on one of their chronos......the case is different of course

I'm not sure what watch MAUSLICK is referring to but Invicta has created a very unique one-of-a-kind piece with this watch and many others are attempting to copy it.

In answer to your original question, Invicta is a brand that has been around since 1837. They are a large company that owns several other brands. The price range of their watches goes from around $50 up to a few thousand.

As for quality, I can only speak for my own experience. I own 7 Invictas and I have been very satisfied with them so far. Some of my Invictas were made in Switzerland and some were made in Japan or elseware. You pay more (of course) for Swiss made watches and movements but the Invictas I own that were assembled in Asia or have Citizen Miyota movements have been perfectly reliable. I think that Invicta offers an excellent value. My favorite Invicta for example, I've worn at least 9 months out of the year for the last 5 years. It has a ETA 2824 automatic movement, sapphire crystal, is 500 meters water resistant and is solid stainless steel. I paid $250. I've NEVER seen a comparable watch in this price range.

I know I must sound like a spokesman or something but I really believe in the value you get from them.

Yeah, I have 2 Invictas (one quartz and one auto) and they are great quality. They feel like $2k-$3k watches and cost under a grand. I would buy any Invicta without hesitation.

a co-worker has a bunch of invictas and they've all been fine. I have a Russian diver and a lupah he gave me and they're holding up fine. Only complaint about them is the lume is weak as hell.
