Don't mind spoolin, he gets buthurt easily. But there has been a few threads dedicated to doom lately. I can't remember the last time a thread was dedicated to black metal though.

Black metal generally makes me LOL, but there's a few bands that do it very well.Otherwise, Incantation is probably the best death/doom band out there. Definitely the most consistent.

My Dying Bride surely is metal - especially their first two albums - "As the Flower Withers" is one of my top Metal albums of all time. I suggest you do some Youtube searching for that album. Not sure how you could even think that they are not metal. Check out "Turn Loose the Swans" while you are at it.

My Dying Bride is doom metal. I'm personally not a fan, but they were one of the bigger forerunners of death/doom.

been on a Bathory kick lately. Hammerheart and Blood Death Fire are beyond epic and need movies made about them. All Martin Van Drunen related bands are always in constant rotation for me: Asphyx, Pestilence, Comecon, and lately Death By Dawn (awesome catchy rockin death metal)
and the entire Autopsy discography on rainy days like today.
Sunn O)))'s album Monolith and Dimensions haven't left my cd player since its release last year as well.

The self-titled Solstice album is a friggin' Florida death-thrash masterpiece, just like The Ten Commandments and Retribution. I'm a HUGE fan of both bands, and own almost every Malevolent album.
Damn I miss quality Florida death metal.

if you're thinking of that terrible band my Children my bride or what have you. that is not hardcore & should not be associated with hardcore as should not with black metal or metal in general... not trying to sound pretentious or pompous.
Anyone from the east coast going to Maryland Death Fest? The line-up this year is insane.

i thought last year's MDF had a better lineup, but this year has AUTOPSY and SODOM! It would be worth it for those 2 bands alone, but since Autopsy are local boys here, they should be playing here soon.

Been listening to Edge of Sanity - Purgatory Afterglow and Gates of Ishtar - A Bloodred Path.

Warr guitar player from Behold... The Arctopus/Dysrhythmia on bass (Marston), drummer from Origin, guitar player from Dysrhythmia. Freaking awesome technical death. I hope Marstons bass playing isn't as obvious as it is in Kralice.

ahahha, wtfffff. I can't imagine what Gorguts will sound like now with half session members from Dysrhythmia and Behold...The Arctopus.

I really don't know what was going through Lemay's head when he hired those two but I've always liked the revolving door of musicians that play in Gorguts. I just hope this latest incarnation doesn't sound like Dysrhythmia with vocals and blastbeats.

I think Lemay will keep Gorguts' identity with the new members. I also think John Longstreth is gonna tear sh*t up.

Slough Feg is a funny band. I don't know what to quite think of them. Goofy as hell and ugly as hell. But they are more in line with Folk-ish material, than say the power metal bands like Kamelot, Rhapsody, Stratovarius, etc..
