I really want to cruise up for POTR to see Noothgrush. I am too damn poor though. The lineup down here is pretty solid as well.

Nah, i aint going to see Eyehategod.
Secured my tix for Power of the Riff on the first night in SF. Kinda torn on the 2nd night, much weaker line up, but I don't mind seeing Pelican.

Also got tix for this weekend for Torche/Big Business/Thrones

Wolves in the Throne Room are playing at an undisclosed location nearby next month. Hoping to check that out. It's put on by the same person that put on a Stephen O'Malley show a few months back. That show was in a church, pretty incredible, hoping there is a neat location lined up for this show as well.

Summer Slaughter was here last night... Got to talk to Chris Barnes for a little bit which was definitely cool. Black Dahlia Murder and Six Feet Under were tops for me

Ironic, since Chris Barnes made a reference to "this isn't Cleveland is it?"

I wanted to go to Summer Slaughter soooo freaking bad. I don't really have any metalhead friends, or friends who would enjoy it though - so ended up at home

Lately I've been rediscovering my black metal collection
Carpathian Forest - Through Chasms, Caves, and Titan Woods ... SO amazing, picked it up for $3, a few years ago in a clearance pile at MediaPlay when they were closing down.

Also been spinning some Dark Throne, Emperor, Tsjuder, Burzum, Borknagar (their self titled is my one of my favorites), and Ulver.
I've got a bunch of high end vintage audio gear I'm clearing out, restored Marantz 4270 - better than new condition; Pioneer SX-5590, 8/10; Concept 16.5, 8/10 cosmetically - 10/10 function. Various high end vintage speakers: Rectilinear Research, AR, Kenwood, Infinity, McIntosh, Leslie 251. PM me for details, clearing out to finance home theater upgrade.

Although I'm not a black metal fan, I goto ATLEAST one show a week here in Atlanta. Get out and find one (Not just the Masquerade).

    Fan right here

Been listening to Type O non-stop this entire week. Really sucks that Pete died last year. I have also been listening to lots of stuff from the 80s, IMO, the best time era for metal in general. Testament has been playing non-stop for me as well. Also been listening to Venom.

Amon Amarth is one of my favorites that hasn't been already mentioned.
