Post rebadging jobs that most people forgot about and/or don't know about.

Here's a good one as an example:

Honda Crossroad aka Land Rover Discovery Series 1 (sold in Japan and New Zeanland):

Lancia Delta rebadged as a Saab , believe this was just for the Swedish market.

Alfa Romeo ARNA. A real low point for Alfa when they rebadged a Nissan Cherry for an entry level model. Major failure.

In North Korea, the Fiat Palio is the Pyonghwa Hwiparam. Locally produced too...

That Honda Crossroad is truly weird, I thought that the Rover-Honda collaboration only produced rebadged Hondas. For instance, here's a Rover 416i, more well known as a Honda Integra:

This is also something that most people have forgotten - a VW Taro (Toyota Hilux):

Saab 600 (Lancia Delta) was also quite the oddball, since it was sold exclusively in Sweden.

Also from North Korea, the Mercedes 190 rebadged as a Kaengsaeng 88 or a Pyongyang 4.10. Could be an "unauthorized" rebadge though.

Audi 100 is still produced in China as the FAW Hongqi ca7220e. I'd probably have it over any Chinese-engineered Geely, Cherry, Great-Wall, or Brilliance death trap.

Note that it's not strictly a rebadged Civic, but actually a rebadge of the Honda Domani, a more conservatively-styled "luxury" Civic. This was also built and sold in Canada as the Acura 1.6EL.

The Isuzu Gemini has a funny history, starting in the '70s as a rebadge of the Opel Kadett C, then becoming a unique Isuzu-designed car that was rebadged for the US as a Chevrolet (the Spectrum), then reverting to a rebadge (of the Domani) from 1993 on.

The Isuzu Aska is even more obscure, having been a rebadge of three completely unrelated models. The first Aska was introduced in the mid-'80s to replace the Isuzu-designed midsize Florian. It was a rebadge of the Opel Ascona C/Holden Camira, a GM J-body:

The second-generation Aska was a rebadged Subaru Legacy:

The third and fouth generations were JDM Accords:

Hey it's a Canada market Acura 1.6 el! my GF has one!

It's nice inside but it's painfully slow with it's SOHC 1.6l. Perfect for her actually.

Australia produced a bumper crop of funky rebadges in the late 80s and 90s.

Ford Telstar (Mazda Capella) - this was sold in many countries in Asia besides Australia.

The rest of these cars were only sold in Australia, due to misguided Government policy...

Ford Corsair (Nissan Pintara aka Bluebird)

    Ford Maverick (Nissan Patrol)

    Holden Apollo (Toyota Camry)

    Holden Astra (Nissan Pulsa)

Holden Nova (Toyota Corolla... yes, that's right, Holden replaced rebadged Nissan Pulsa with a rebadged Corolla. The madness!)

    Toyota Lexcen (Holden Commodore)

Man, we could have a whole thread of Isuzus!

Opel i-Mark, which was a rebadged Opel Kadett, which in turn was just another T-Body (Chevrolet Chevette).

In fact, the very first Isuzu was actually a rebadged Wolseley A-9, which was also the very first car to be built in Japan:

And of course, Hyundai got their start by selling the "Hyundai Ford Cortina"

I wish I could get more info on this. There's nothing out there aside from this photo and quotes attributed to defectors. There is, however, a video that pops up in Google search that shows a North Korean intersection with at least three 190E (or 190E look-a-likes) passing through the shot. Apparently the car was only made in 1987-88. These look much newer (early 90's).

I was expecting Vad to post a bunch of wacky Soviet bloc cars that are rebadged Fiats, Lancias, and whatever else.

Moving on to Brasil... another land of funky rebadges largely due to the miserable marriage of Ford and VW in the late 80s. Do a google search for "Autolatina joint venture" if you desire more info

VW Apollo (aka Ford Escort 2 door - a Brasil only model. Apollo is a popular name for rebadges in the Southern hemisphere!)

VW Pointer (Ford Escort - not to be confused with VW Gol based Pointer sold in Mexico)

VW Logus (2nd gen Apollo - another 2 door Ford Escort)

    Ford Versailles/Royale (VW Santana)
