Anyone going to be at the PAP North on Sat? I started to go this morning to snag a transmission but it started raining when I was half way there, Ill be there on saturday if anyone has no plans I could probably use an extra pair of hands

There are a couple junk yards up on US 441 almost to Commerce. I'm not sure if they are of the 'pull a part' variety or if they even have VWs there, but they certainly have a bunch of stuff. I'm always looking for ways to not drive from Athens to Duluth. I can't stand 316...

If we ever start doing tech days again, that would be awesome. I am planning on replacing the oil pump, timing chains, and rocker arm assembly on my truck sometime soon.

As this Saturday and Sunday is Valentine's Day weekend, I would say that would not be a good idea for us married folks.

Let's do a Tech Day at my place on Sunday, Feb 21st starting around noon. Garage and extra hands will be available.

vern you need to probably check the mkV diy threads to check for things that could help you out . i am going metal detecting in augusta this week end at a bridge abutment that was used by the union army to ford a river . then they camped in the area .. i would help you otherwise ..

Sounds like something I might be able to attend. The truck is running again but I still need to do some maintenance type stuff on it, like change the transmission grease, replace some gaskets, and replace thermostat/coolant flush.
