i only started to collect vinyl about a year ago, so here's what i've got so far. i've got plenty of CDs, but they're nowhere near organized and most of them are tucked away in boxes since i moved back in with my parents.
oh and this one is special, to me anyway
just starting, so i guess that's about it![]()

During high school, I used to listen to a variety of punk rock, including hardcore. Bands including 7 Seconds, Minor Threat, Youth of Today, Black Flag, Mouthpiece....etc.(it's all about the old school). I'm just amazed that I read through 8 pages and saw no mention(band names, t-shirts- record collections) of this incredible band.

hey the shape of punk to come is easily one of the best albums ever put out for that genre, i just don't have any vinyl, merch, or the like from refused

Hey, perhaps "The Shape of Punk to Come" is just a given in regards to being a great hardcore album. Too bad I've been selling all my records in order to live/travel. I used to have an incredible collection. I've come down to original print Beatles albums, original print Clash albums (including an original print of the UK version of "The Clash" signed by Joe Strummer(I had him sign it when I saw him with the Mescaleros).......I'm saving this one....among some others that I could probably never give up.

that was one of the last shows i went to
Yep, one of the last ones I went to that I didn't play in at least.
I agree, Refused was excellent and one of the only 'new school' bands I liked.
Been listening to Good Clean Fun all morning, one of my personal favorites as a 'has been' or 'never was.' Ha.

what the hell, who else was on the bill? apparently, they've been making a conscious effort to book non-hardcore bands for each tour date. anyone confirm/deny this?

I am not a Blacklisted fan, but at Chain they are playing with Fell To Low, Worn In Red, Stop Breathing, and New Romantics. I saw Fell To Low last night at the Wilhelm show. They were great. Reminded me of early Refused. Worn In Red and Stop Breathing are good stuff as well. Also, check out http://limitedpressing.com/auctions for some vinyl.

It's funny to see so many 'tough' hardcore kids admitting they know the words to a saves the day song.

how is Crime in Stereo's new record? I've enjoyed almost all of their stuff so far. And i agree that hardcore not being close-minded is a good thing. bring back the diversity in shows.. And as much as I'm probably contradicting what I just said by saying this, I've tried and can not get into Title Fight, Fireworks, set your goals or any of that stuff.I saw Four Year Strong & they covered Suicide File's Twilight which I guess was kind of cool but no one knew it & I'm not sure I understood why they were covering it but I guess that's not my place. They're making ok money I'm assuming, probably getting tons of vag thrown at them & touring constantly(I am jealous of that), good for them.
I just can't get into it & it all sounds the same to me. Tigers Jaw is the only new(er) band semi like that whom I can get into & they're hardly comparable.. I listened to them for like four straight months.

i couldn't get into the new crime in stereo album the first couple of listens, but it is slowly growing on me.Title Fight, out of the three you mentioned, are awesome. I just miss the days of seeing Set Your Goals without security or in someone's living room.
It's interesting to see how many people will sing every word of an American Nightmare song that The Ghost Inside is covering. Good times.
