I definitely like this kit, any extra parts needed or large mods to install? I'm APR tuned right now, do you know if they have software for this turbo? Thanks for the help, pricing is awesome.

i said it in your last thread, Eurodyne 630cc file will be your best bet for this application. Pag parts sells that as well.. with injectors, an inline 255 pump, and software youll be looking at about 3200-3300 for a turn key setup.

Take a second and thank a Veteran.

Ok I'm on your webstite on the 50 Trim kit and I added the software, injectors, fuel pump but now, what is the front mount intercooler adapter? do I need it? I have a FMIC on my car right now.... thats one question, other is, there is an option for a NEW ECU for like 295... this catched my attention, is this the price for an actual NEW ECU? if so, Then I could buy the damn thing and have you put the new software in it before you ship the package? Let me know and thanks for all the help.

The last few weeks I have been looking to upgrade the turbo on the gti. I thought about the k04-001 which doesn't seem like its worth it. Then I looked at putting a k04-02x setup together, but I'm not crazy about piecing it together. Then I looked at this thread and followed the links. I think I'm going to go with the setup you posted earlier. And judging by people's responses to the customer service it seems like a good idea. This should make my drives to and from work more enjoyable. Thanks for posting that setup !

you know i owe alot to this site...not because vw's are da $hit but to the fact everyone here truely cares for another vdubber and is willing to help one another out as much as they can and they do it all with out ever seeing the or or barley meeting the person.....

im going with pag parts as well when i upgrade because of the man himself arnold ....

he sold me on the kit easily and sold many others....i truely beleive this guy deserves an award because all of us can say atleast one time that this man has helped us out greatly and did it either over the phone or on a pc but still did the best damn job he could to help us...

pag parts should be very greatful he is with them cause that is the type of guy i would want on my team ....

but i didnt come here to give a speech but this kit is a good kit and i look forward to my purchase with it and congragulations to j-tec on the install with this kit ..i ran across your forums and diy's numerious of times and to see you guys do the install with in hours and still have time to joke shows the fact that this kit is truely a bolt on success of power

only time will tell until my bt days will begin it seems like a lot more fun and PHIlLLY has yet to see what us true dubbers can do

Reason #279.5 why you should buy from Arnold:

When you are stranded in Indiana at a flying J travel plaza and having major issues, be it your car is on fire, and you are trying to drive back from Illinois to MD and you call him at some insane hour, there is a good chance he will pick up and help you.

Yeah, that is good stand behind what you sell service.

I have *never* had any other company that responsive.

Now don't bug him for stupid reasons or self inflicted problems, but yeah. That right there, was impressive.

Coming from a small business guy, I appreciate that and have done the same for customers.

Well, its kind of a loaded question, with probably equally loaded answers. Let me put it to you this way... If you are a starving artist or used to eating ramen for breakfast, lunch, dinner in college or perhaps building a car that you've got a strict budget on, the T series turbos are pretty much tailor made for you. If you've got a little more expendable income and dont mind spending more on a technically more advanced and ultimately better product, the GT series turbos are a sound choice.

    GT dbb turbos PROS:
-faster transient response (i know, but its true)
-you can spin them to almost critical mass w/o much worries
    -more compact, lighter
-not as much cool down required
-more durable in the long run as it will absorb asinine driving behavior (no thrust bearing required)
-requires less oil to keep it happy

    Cons:
    -cost
-not rebuildable in the traditional sense (except the PTE's) but very good dbb program offered by Garrett

    Journal bearing turbos
    PROS:
    -cost
-rebuildable in the traditional sense but sometimes not worth it if wheels are damaged

    CONS:
-little less responsive b/w shifts and initial spool
    -longer cool down period
-can last a while, but once your thrust bearing goes, its a quick death from there

They should be fine. Never took one apart to see as I have the GT's. I would gather at 1/4 million RPM's, since the GT's are a bit more compact, there would be less deflection which will aid in stability.
