    Thread: What's for dinner?

Chili cheese dogs with Chili Cheese Tater tots. A special request from my mom while she is visiting. Luckily my husband loves it as well.
Guess I will be eating a salad.

I'm sorry - I'm new on here, so I don't know what your dietary situation is, but that sounds awesome. After my husband's burger-eating competition this past weekend, we're back onto Weight Watchers, which means dinner will likely be something more like your salad than your family's chili cheese extravaganza

We usually eat very healthy in our house. And nights like tonight don't happen very often. My mom is visiting for a few weeks and brought some chili from back home so they both requested it for dinner tonight.
I am actually a diabetic so I am very careful with what I eat.

A cottage/shepherd's pie. Had some ground beef that had to be used up. Beef, corn, peas, and mashed potatoes. I made it earlier and it's waiting to go in the oven.

Grilled onions, chicken breasts marinated in olive oil, lime, oregano, cumin, S&P; skirt steak, same marinade plus red pepper flakes; patatas bravas and steamed artichokes w/homemade aioli, sliced cucumber and avocado salad, washed down with Bitburger for the adults and lemonade for the kid.

My friend made his world famous burgers; As he likes to call them.
We bought some ground beef and he likes to mix in crushed up Dorritos, we had Spicy Nacho, and then we throw in some salt, pepper, garlic powder, chopped onion, Worcestershire Sauce, and some Tecate. On a toased onion bun and topped with pepperjack cheese. Pretty damn tasty.

A mish mash of food from SF. Monk fish liver, picked up from the Japanese grocery store, and sushi rice, some futomaki, and part of a shrimp, and part of a crab sandwich from the wharf.

You don't have to be a good cook to make good food. Watch the latest episode of No Reservations. Anthony Bourdain and some of his chef friends actually give a few tips on cooking at home.

They just got in live spot prawns at one of the local asian markets. Cooked them up in a scampi sauce and put them over pasta. I can't get enough of the prawn heads. I was contemplating going back tomorrow and buying more as I was eating the ones I bought today.

I had an Italian sub from Jersey Mike's. I think they're new to the West Coast.
      Not a bad sandwich.
