I had seared tuna steaks last night and this was the end concoction. This one spent about 1 minute on each side then was sliced and plated. The mixture in the back is mayo and Sriracha's chili garlic sauce mixed up. Front is just a pile of wasabi that looks like a green turd with soy sauce running across.

Last night we ended up going out, so tonight will be corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. The post about colcannon reminded me that there was a colcannon soup on Cooking Light's website that I wanted to try, but that will have to wait until the cabbage gets planted now! (Starting my first ever veggie garden)

The wife made tortellini for the first time, she spent 4 hours slaving in the kitchen and she still has a bunch of dough and filling left over. It was might tasty though!

    What he said.

Also, cabbage, kale, broccoli, brussels sprouts, collard greens, and a whole bunch of others are technically the same vegetable, taxanomically. It's when you branch off into cultivar groups that you get the differences. Alton Brown just did a really cool episode of Good Eats on this in preparation for St. Patrick's Day.

    Pretty cool stuff, imo

Dinner tonight: The Roosevelt burger. 2 1/2lb burgers, sliced pork roll, fried egg, jack and cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion - with a large side of gravy cheese fries.

2lbs 10oz (the styrofoam weighed 7/8 of an oz), all for $9.99. A hair under 18 minutes from start to finish...the burgers were gone in less than 6 minutes, but the fries were a challenge.

I'm gonna grill up some "seafood sausages" I found in the freezer section at Trader Joes. It's supposed to be basil, sundried tomato, swai (whitefish), shrimp, and scallops. Grilled Asparagus on the side

Trying my hand at grilled butternut squash and grilled zucchini. I also have a pot of garlic/kale/canellini beans/chicken stock/quinoa on the stove, and I just made kale chips... Eating kale chips feels like you're chewing on a tree in the autumn, but they're actually pretty good. Just kale, olive oil, salt, pepper, bake it all together for a few minutes. Crunchy and tasty. Would probably be a good addition to the quinoa stew I'm making, but I don't think they'll last that long.

    I made chicken noodle soup.

A friend fixed red thai curry soup last week and made chicken stock from scratch. I used the left overs and cut up some red tomatoes, baby portabellas, celery, chives, leeks, and the rest of the chicken (wings and thighs) and tossed them into the pot with the stock.

Added some whipping cream towards the end. It turned out well.

I'm sorry - I'm new on here, so I don't know what your dietary situation is, but that sounds awesome. After my husband's burger-eating competition this past weekend, we're back onto Weight Watchers, which means dinner will likely be something more like your salad than your family's chili cheese extravaganza

We usually eat very healthy in our house. And nights like tonight don't happen very often. My mom is visiting for a few weeks and brought some chili from back home so they both requested it for dinner tonight.

I am actually a diabetic so I am very careful with what I eat.

A cottage/shepherd's pie. Had some ground beef that had to be used up. Beef, corn, peas, and mashed potatoes. I made it earlier and it's waiting to go in the oven.
